TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 07/15/14 -- Editors Note: There is a photo associated with this press release.
PATTISON Outdoor Advertising and Spacing Magazine launch the 2nd annual Dear City Canada, an innovative cross-country, public art project and dialogue about the cities we inhabit from July 14 to August 10, 2014. Dear City Canada is part of PATTISON's ongoing Art in Transit programme.
For the next 4 weeks selected urban love letters in the form of tweets from people across Canada will be shared on PATTISON Outdoor's digital billboards coast to coast. Over 40 different tweets will be appearing on billboards in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax; one billboard per city. Each billboard displays the best urban love letters tweeted to the city where it is located.
In addition, over 100 urban love letters from across the country will be playing on many of the PATTISON Onestop digital screen networks, including office and residential buildings across the country, over 300 shopping malls across Canada, as well as screens in the Calgary International Airport, the Edmonton Transit System and the Toronto Transit Commission.
It's not too late! Tweet a love letter about your city to @DearCityCanada and it can still appear on screens across Canada. You can start with "Dear (name of your city) ...".
-- Dear Calgary, I love how grown-up and confident you are. Much more than a rodeo, you make room at the table for all newcomers. @YYCfrancophile -- Dear Winnipeg, my love for you is like my love for my sister. I can make fun of you, but no one else can. @BTjeremyjohn -- Dear Toronto, I'm finally back in your arms after a long search for what I thought I wanted. It was you I was looking for. @MsKMScott -- Your roads ravaged by groundhogs, your metro where time stops, your bridges vanishing... Aren't you magical, dear Montreal. @SoniaAlice_sAm
Dear City Canada is co-produced by PATTISON Onestop and Spacing Magazine.

Cloud based infrastructure deployment is becoming more and more appealing to customers, from Fortune 500 companies to SMEs due to its pay-as-you-go model. Enterprise storage vendors are able to reach out to these customers by integrating in cloud based deployments; this needs adaptability and interoperability of the products confirming to cloud standards such as OpenStack, CloudStack, or Azure. More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smar...

Complete Internet of Things (IoT) embedded device security is not just about the device but involves the entire product’s identity, data and control integrity, and services traversing the cloud. A device can no longer be looked at as an island; it is a part of a system. In fact, given the cross-domain interactions enabled by IoT it could be a part of many systems. Also, depending on where the device is deployed, for example, in the office building versus a factory floor or oil field, security ha...

Successful transition from traditional IT to cloud computing requires three key ingredients: an IT architecture that allows companies to extend their internal best practices to the cloud, a cost point that allows economies of scale, and automated processes that manage risk exposure and maintain regulatory compliance with industry regulations (FFIEC, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FISMA). The unique combination of VMware, the IBM Cloud, and Cloud Raxak, a 2016 Gartner Cool Vendor in IT Automation, provides a co...

All clouds are not equal. To succeed in a DevOps context, organizations should plan to develop/deploy apps across a choice of on-premise and public clouds simultaneously depending on the business needs. This is where the concept of the Lean Cloud comes in - resting on the idea that you often need to relocate your app modules over their life cycles for both innovation and operational efficiency in the cloud. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at19th Cloud Expo, Valentin (Val) Bercovici, CTO of So...
