SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwired) -- 07/15/14 -- The SENS Research Foundation extended the early bird registration discount to the annual Rejuvenation Biotechnology Conference in Santa Clara until July 14 and published the full agenda on their website last week. This year's conference will take place from August 21 to 23 at the Santa Clara Hyatt Regency Hotel and revolve around the main topic "Emerging Regenerative Medicine Solutions for the Diseases of Aging". In his introductory words Aubrey de Grey, the Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer of the SENS Research Foundation, emphasizes once again the overall goal of the conference and the foundation as a whole -- to create a rejuvenation biotechnology industry which aims at accelerating the development of drugs through the broad-based collaboration of damage-repair expertise.
The event will provide a platform for experts and key players to attend panels on topics such as Advancing Regenerative Therapies in Cancer and Parkinson's Disease, Molecular and Cellular Damage as the Cause of the Diseases of Aging or Building a Rejuvenation Biotechnology Industry and discuss combinatorial, preventative strategies, which represent the main goals of the SENS Foundation. SENS, short for "Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence," is a non-profit organization that is built on the support of private individuals, researchers and scientists, as well as prominent philanthropist. One of the biggest contributors in the recent past has been Jason Hope, a renowned entrepreneur from Arizona, who has made several considerable donations and has been actively supporting the foundation's research efforts.
In 2010, Jason Hope donated $500,000 to the SENS foundation, a gift that enabled the organization to build and equip the Cambridge SENS laboratory as well as to implement a brand-new research program aiming to break down advanced glycation end products in human tissue.
