KIRKLAND, WA--(Marketwired - July 17, 2014) - Radius Inc., a next-generation technology consulting company focused on the growing Internet of Things industry, today announced the launch of the "Radius Google Glass Enterprise Framework." Working as an extension to the Google Glass platform, this technology framework enables enterprise customers to more easily and efficiently deploy Google Glass applications into the enterprise environment.
"We believe in a future where the full spectrum of wearable technology -- with Google Glass as a great example -- is just another set of components in the enterprise Internet of Things ecosystem," said Anders Brown, President at Radius Inc. "The reality is, however, that the enterprise environment creates significant challenges for solutions that span wearables like Glass -- from authentication to security to content management to power management and more. The framework we are announcing today helps solve some of these challenges."
With the Google Glass Enterprise Framework, companies can now more easily deploy Glass solutions to their enterprise workforce. The framework includes a set of components that address the following areas:
- Communication: Framework includes native Bluetooth LE support for communication directly to local peripherals for notifications and alerts, rather than receiving them from the public cloud.
- Power Management: Framework includes options for controlling application connection state to optimize power management, which helps extend the daily life of Glass.
- Scalability: Framework includes options for scaling multiple Glass end-points into a single solution. Adding or removing users is quick and efficient.
With the framework, customers can now control their Glass integration and apply the appropriate security and authentication models they choose. By developing Glass components specifically targeting the needs of enterprise organizations, the Google Glass Enterprise Framework helps accelerate the time to market for companies wishing to explore the power of Google Glass.
