GLENDALE, CO--(Marketwired - July 18, 2014) - Nutrinsic Corporation (www.nutrinsic.com) has announced the launch of its sustainable protein business. ProFloc™, a high quality protein ingredient for use in animal nutrition, is produced using patented technology that upcycles nutrients that are currently lost in food and beverage plant wastewater treatment. ProFloc™ is therefore a sustainable and earth-friendly protein source for all types of aquatic and terrestrial animal feeds.
Nutrinsic is constructing its first U.S. production facility in Trenton, Ohio which is slated to come on-line by year end 2014. A facility in China has been operational for several months and is co-owned by Nutrinsic and other partners in a joint venture. This plant utilizes brewery wastewater to produce high quality single cell protein for the local market while eliminating the need to dispose of waste and providing clean water.
The Nutrinsic process works efficiently on all types of food and beverage wastewaters. Food and beverage companies that collaborate with Nutrinsic see significant operational savings and environmental benefits.
In making this announcement, Leo Gingras, Chief Executive Officer said: "At Nutrinsic we ask how we can better utilize limited food resources to provide sustainable nutrition for a growing world population. With our technology we have come up with a cost-effective, high quality protein for animal nutrition with the added benefit of clean water as a by-product. We are very pleased to be commercializing our technology and ProFloc™ and look forward to rapidly growing the business."
Nutrinsic is a pioneer in providing commercial nutrition solutions through the upcycling of unused nutrients. By recovering nutrients, Nutrinsic helps food and beverage processors deliver clean water to the environment and eliminate the need to dispose of waste. This process creates an environmentally and economically sustainable source of premium protein for animal nutrition. www.nutrinsic.com
