County Cab and Yellow Cab, St. Louis’ largest taxicab company, today announced that its St. Louis Taxi App has reached more than 25,000 downloads and has been used to order more than 70,000 rides.
St. Louis Taxi is the most popular and widely used taxi app in the St. Louis area by number of downloads and confirmed accounts. It allows anyone to book a cab in as few as three clicks using any Android or Apple/iOS device. The app can be downloaded free from the Google Play Store or the Apple iTunes Store.
“To reach so many downloads in a little over a year, for an app that targets a mid-sized metropolitan area, is pretty amazing,” said Basil Rudawsky, president of County Cab and Yellow Cab. “Our app now accounts for approximately 12 percent of all orders.”
County Cab’s St. Louis Taxi app makes it easy to order and pay for a cab. Among its features and benefits, the app:
- Lets a passenger “ride and go” without any payment hassles by providing “in-app” payment by credit card for fast and easy service
- Takes the guesswork out of ordering a taxi by confirming reservation, and showing customers estimated fare and estimated arrival time
- Allows customers to monitor their vehicle’s progress on a map
- Lets customers book a future reservation
While the app allows passengers to pay by credit card, it does not require having a credit card to set up an account and order a cab.
“The St. Louis Taxi App continues County Cab’s long history of innovation,” said Debbie Rudawsky, co-owner and chief financial officer of County Cab and Yellow Cab. “County Cab was the first to adopt computer dispatching, the first to install GPS in all of its cabs, and the first to offer cab ordering online and by SMS text. We want to make it super easy to order, confirm and pay for a cab, wherever people are.”
