ViXS Powers Latest Slingbox M1 and SlingTV "TV Anywhere" Products

XCode SoC Media Processors Integral in Delivering Industry Leading Mobile Device and Smart Living Room TV Experience

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - July 21, 2014) - ViXS Systems Inc. (TSX: VXS), a pioneer and leader in media processing solutions, today announced that Sling Media Inc.'s just announced Slingbox® M1 and SlingTV™ are based upon ViXS' XCode SoC media processor product family. These latest Sling products replace the popular and award-winning Slingbox 350 and 500 models, bringing powerful TV Anywhere features to mobile device users that are easy to set-up and use.

The Slingbox M1 is designed for mainstream users wanting remote access to all their home TV channels and shows as well as access to DVR content on their personal computers, tablets, and phones, with the added benefit of being the most affordable Slingbox that Sling Media has ever produced. SlingTV is based upon the Slingbox 500 hardware platform and provides a "Smarter TV" experience for the living room, including enhanced discovery and navigation tools for finding programming and quick tuning, as well as a vibrant electronic programming guide (EPG) and an advanced recommendation engine powered by SlingCloud™. Both the Slingbox M1 and SlingTV products utilize a single XCode SoC to drive the above mentioned features such as utilizing the internal graphics engine to drive the vibrant EPG and navigation tools and the media processing engine to drive the unique DVR and "TV Anywhere" functions, allowing Sling to deliver the features that consumers need.
