The Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering is proud to announce another addition to their suite of online services, provided through the partnership between Alabama Interactive (AI) and the board. Barbers and barber instructors can now renew their licenses online by following just a few quick and easy steps.
Barbers in the state of Alabama are now required by law to be licensed and have not been regulated in Alabama for nearly 30 years. The board feels that giving licensees the option to renew online will be extremely helpful to this new process, and will modernize and streamline their system.
When the law went into effect last May, licensees had 180 days to register with the board. They will now be required to renew their license in even-numbered years during their birth month. The renewal season alternates with the cosmetology renewals that take place in odd-numbered years and is also housed by AI.
