McKesson Pharmacy Systems and Automation (MPS&A) today announced that it is launching the largest software release for its Pharmaserv® pharmacy management system in four years at 2014 McKesson ideaShare.
“Our focus for this release was to support our loyal customers as they work to meet the demands of a changing health care environment,” said Bernie Reese, VP/GM Independent and Small Chain Markets, MPS&A. “We maintained the flexibility that customers love in Pharmaserv and built out its capabilities to support new pharmacy operations and clinical services.”
MPS&A’s All New Pharmaserv includes new adherence program solutions as well as tighter integration with McKesson programs that can bring added value to McKesson distribution customers who use a McKesson pharmacy management system.
“While we were building a lot of new functionality into the system, we decided it was time to give Pharmaserv a makeover,” said Reese. “We modernized the user interface to make it even more intuitive, and we added icons that make it easier for pharmacy staff to select generics that lower the cost for patients and the cost-per-fill for pharmacies.”

When it comes to cloud computing, the ability to turn massive amounts of compute cores on and off on demand sounds attractive to IT staff, who need to manage peaks and valleys in user activity. With cloud bursting, the majority of the data can stay on premises while tapping into compute from public cloud providers, reducing risk and minimizing need to move large files. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Scott Jeschonek, Director of Product Management at Avere Systems, discussed the IT and busin...

In addition to all the benefits, IoT is also bringing new kind of customer experience challenges - cars that unlock themselves, thermostats turning houses into saunas and baby video monitors broadcasting over the internet. This list can only increase because while IoT services should be intuitive and simple to use, the delivery ecosystem is a myriad of potential problems as IoT explodes complexity. So finding a performance issue is like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.
