The Buried Life Partners With Contiki Vacations to Grant Unforgettable Travel Wishes

Brianna's Story: When in Rome

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - July 22, 2014) - Today, the creators of MTV's The Buried Life and the #1 New York Times best seller, "What Do You Want to Do Before You Die?" released the first installment of their online video series with partner, Contiki Vacations, the worldwide leader in youth travel experiences. The Buried Life comprised of Jonnie Penn, Ben Nemtin, Duncan Penn and Dave Lingwood have traveled the globe checking items off their bucket list while helping strangers do the same along the way. They are at again, this time fulfilling unforgettable travel wishes for young people by surprising worthy recipients with trips of a lifetime!

The first installment of the web series, "Brianna's Story," follows a young woman on her personal journey of self-discovery as she explores a new world abroad. Brianna Olguin never thought she would leave her hometown of Isleta Pueblo, New Mexico. One day while at school, The Buried Life and Contiki surprised her with a plane ticket and a rush trip to the passport office turning her dream of visiting Italy into a reality. Her father, a painter, had instilled in her the desire to see the world and see the works of the great Italian masters. With the help of The Buried Life and Contiki's Italian Espresso tour, she did. This moving, coming of age story unfolds as her journey abroad exploring Italy is documented by award winning filmmaker Jay Salbert. As you will see, it ends in tears at the Vatican.

Ben Nemtin of The Buried Life says, "Both The Buried Life and Contiki have built brands on fulfilling aspirations. We are thrilled about this partnership and believe in this experiential approach to engage viewers in an authentic and genuine way, thus ultimately inspiring our collective audiences to pursue their dreams."

"'This is a genuine partnership since we share similar values and Contiki is fully aligned in providing these amazing once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences which are all about self-discovery," says Marie Anne MacRae, Global VP of Strategic Partnerships, Contiki Vacations. "We're so excited to share this adventure with these four inspiring young men so we're committed to join forces and help more millennials fulfill their dreams."

More videos will be released in the coming the weeks with the next installment slated for August 11th. Most recently, in May 2014, The Buried Life along with the help of Hanger Clinic, surprised a girl named Torri Biddle (who was born without an arm) with a bionic arm in a scheme that stretched from Ohio to California over the course of several months. They documented the experience via video which went viral online. The Buried Life just wants to know: What do you want to do before you die?

ABOUT THE BURIED LIFE:
Jonnie Penn, Ben Nemtin, Duncan Penn and Dave Lingwood started The Buried Life in their parent's garage in 2006. They made a list of '100 things to do before you die' and for every list item they accomplished, they helped a stranger do something on their list. Since then, they've crossed off 'Make a TV Show (MTV)', 'Write a #1 New York Times Bestselling Book', 'Play Basketball with the President of the United States' as well as helped a father and son reunite after 17 years, put a recovering addict back on his feet, and outfit a teenage girl with her first bionic arm. Along the way, they've encouraged millions to believe that anything is possible. http://www.theburiedlife.com/

Containers are not new, but renewed commitments to performance, flexibility, and agility have propelled them to the top of the agenda today. By working without the need for virtualization and its overhead, containers are seen as the perfect way to deploy apps and services across multiple clouds. Contrary to mainstream media attention, the multiple possibilities of how consumer IoT will transform our everyday lives aren’t the only angle of this headline-gaining trend. There’s a huge opportunity for “industrial IoT” and “Smart Cities” to impact the world in the same capacity – especially during critical situations. For example, a community water dam that needs to release water can leverage embedded critical communications logic to alert the appropriate individuals, on the right device, as...
Even though you are running an agile development process, that doesn’t necessarily mean that your performance testing is being conducted in a truly agile way. Saving performance testing for a “final sprint” before release still treats it like a waterfall development step, with all the cost and risk that comes with that. In this post, we will show you how to make load testing happen early and often by putting SLAs on the agile task board.
Manufacturing connected IoT versions of traditional products requires more than multiple deep technology skills. It also requires a shift in mindset, to realize that connected, sensor-enabled “things” act more like services than what we usually think of as products. In his session at @ThingsExpo, David Friedman, CEO and co-founder of Ayla Networks, will discuss how when sensors start generating detailed real-world data about products and how they’re being used, smart manufacturers can use the ...
The Internet of Things is in the early stages of mainstream deployment but it promises to unlock value and rapidly transform how organizations manage, operationalize, and monetize their assets. IoT is a complex structure of hardware, sensors, applications, analytics and devices that need to be able to communicate geographically and across all functions. Once the data is collected from numerous endpoints, the challenge then becomes converting it into actionable insight.

Consumer IoT applications provide data about the user that just doesn’t exist in traditional PC or mobile web applications.
