Harvey Nash Inc. Chosen by Investment Banking Firm Jefferies to Provide Global Infrastructure End-User Support

Harvey Nash Inc., an IT recruitment, IT outsourcing/offshoring and executive search firm, today announced that Jefferies LLC, a global investment banking firm, selected Harvey Nash to deliver infrastructure end-user support to the company’s global operations in multiple locations across North America, Europe and Asia. During the five and a half year engagement, Harvey Nash will provide tier 1 and tier 2 desk-side support to Jefferies’ workforce of 3,800 employees located in more than 30 cities across the globe, including New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

“Partnering with an experienced IT outsourcing provider like Harvey Nash ensures our team is able to support clients with the right technology and high productivity,” said Hany Doss, Senior Vice President, Technology at Jefferies. “We chose Harvey Nash to gain cost efficiencies and help us meet our larger IT business goals, and we are already seeing results. They implemented this project quickly, and were up and running globally at the same time. It was very seamless. We look forward to seeing the returns grow over the next five years.”

Harvey Nash Inc. President and CEO Bob Miano said, “We are honored to help a global financial firm like Jefferies increase its efficiency and productivity. When Harvey Nash takes ownership of a critical infrastructure function for our clients, we enable our clients to focus on their core priorities. Particularly in the financial services industry, talent and technology demands change frequently, and we are flexible to meet those ups and downs so clients are always maximizing their workforce and operating as efficiently as possible.”

The outsourcing engagement with Jefferies became fully operational in December 2013, following a six-month seamless transition in which all Jefferies employees formerly providing desk-side support transferred to Harvey Nash. Harvey Nash maintained almost 100 percent retention through the process.

For the past two decades, Harvey Nash has provided a range of outsourcing and offshoring solutions designed to help small and large clients alike efficiently and strategically achieve technology goals that drive innovation and improve business performance.

DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. Detecting internal user threats in the Big Data eco-system is challenging and cumbersome. Many organizations monitor internal usage of the Big Data eco-system using a set of alerts. This is not a scalable process given the increase in the number of alerts with the accelerating growth in data volume and user base. Organizations are increasingly leveraging machine learning to monitor only those data elements that are sensitive and critical, autonomously establish monitoring policies, and to detect...
