The Government of Canada is providing the Corporation of the Town of New Tecumseth with $4,591 through the Museums Assistance Program to support improvements to the Museum on the Boyne's collections management and environmental monitoring practices. This support will allow the Museum to migrate their data from its outdated system, confirm data integrity, and catalogue all of their collection in professional software.
The Honourable Dr. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women and Member of Parliament (Simcoe-Grey), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
-- The Museum on the Boyne, located in Riverdale Park in Alliston, houses a mixed collection of household, agricultural, industrial, and archival artifacts that depict life in South Simcoe from the time of settlement to the present day. -- The Museum's children's programming allows young visitors to learn about local history in both a structured and hands-on, creative learning environment.
"I'm proud of our Government's support for Canadian museums. We are ensuring that Canadians will have access to our rich heritage today and in the future."
-The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
"Thanks to today's investment, the Museum on the Boyne will use new technology to improve and update its collections management system. I am pleased that our Government is investing in a project that will ensure Ontario's history is preserved for many years."
-The Honourable Dr. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women and Member of Parliament (Simcoe-Grey)

Web Real-Time Communication APIs have quickly revolutionized what browsers are capable of. In addition to video and audio streams, we can now bi-directionally send arbitrary data over WebRTC's PeerConnection Data Channels. With the advent of Progressive Web Apps and new hardware APIs such as WebBluetooh and WebUSB, we can finally enable users to stitch together the Internet of Things directly from their browsers while communicating privately and securely in a decentralized way.
