Online Bidding Platform Fliphound Adds Three Marad Digital Billboards in Baton Rouge to its Portfolio of Outdoor Displays

Fliphound, the first online bidding platform for outdoor digital billboards, today announced it will be the first online purveyor of outdoor digital billboards in the state of Louisiana. Fliphound has partnered with Marad Digital to bring its leading brand of dynamic outdoor advertising with a simple online interface to three new displays in Baton Rouge. Advertisers now will be able to leverage Fliphound’s real-time online bidding platform to run flexible ads on digital billboards in the capitol city.

Baton Rouge has a metro area of over 800,000 inhabitants and boasts a designated market area of over 1 million, according to Nielsen. With more than 375 advertisers already using the service across the nation, Fliphound brings Marad and other digital billboard providers the ability to jumpstart their business and immediately tap into online digital buyers.

The three billboards are located in high-traffic areas, including a double-sided display on Airline Highway, adjacent to the bustling “car dealership row,” ensuring visibility and reach. Marad’s digital billboards are placed on architectural landmarks in the form of unique monuments and are 65% less bright than other digital billboards creating fewer distractions for nighttime drivers. Major retailers, including a new Wal-Mart as well as L’Auberge Casino & Hotel, surround the Bluebonnet Boulevard site. These strategic placements in some of the city’s busiest quarters will further expand Fliphound’ and Marad’s reach to potential advertisers.

“Marad Digital is building a broad network of outdoor digital advertising space and Fliphound is proud to be helping them connect with new advertisers. 82% of Fliphound users are new to outdoor advertising and together we can deliver outdoor advertising effectively to local advertisers,” said Douglas M. Robertson, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Fliphound. “Baton Rouge is a thriving city in Louisiana, and just the tip of the iceberg. Our goal is to make digital billboards more accessible to local advertisers across the nation, and to remove any hurdles for first time buyers in the outdoor marketing space.”

“Fliphound is helping us connect with advertisers to extend our reach in the Baton Rouge area. With over one million pairs of eyes in the greater metro area, we can help our customers reach their audiences and propel their businesses. As companies devote more and more of their budgets to digital advertising, it’s important to bridge the gap between online presence and outdoor. Fliphound does precisely this, by allowing online digital content to be displayed in the real-world,” said Marius Kalamala, Founder and CEO of Marad Digital.

Fliphound’s easy-to-use, cloud-based platform creates a nexus between the ease and speed of online advertising and the effectiveness of the growing outdoor digital market. As the first real-time online-bidding platform for digital billboards, advertisers have complete control over their campaigns with the Fliphound interface by simply choosing the outdoor billboard locations, setting bid prices, uploading content, and making a payment. Fliphound compiles real-time playlists for digital billboards based on bidders’ input and uploads the ads to premium or affordable digital billboards in real-time. With Fliphound, ads can be live in minutes, and advertisers can start, stop and change campaigns at any time, offering the flexibility to run content for one day, a week, or any term of their choosing.

Microservices are a very exciting architectural approach that many organizations are looking to as a way to accelerate innovation. Microservices promise to allow teams to move away from monolithic "ball of mud" systems, but the reality is that, in the vast majority of organizations, different projects and technologies will continue to be developed at different speeds. How to handle the dependencies between these disparate systems with different iteration cycles? Consider the "canoncial problem" ...
