Automated Local Search Provider Rio SEO Selected as Factual Trusted Data Contributor

Rio SEO, with its award-winning local SEO automation and local listing management software, has been selected as a Factual Trusted Data Contributor. Effective immediately, multi-location businesses on the Rio platform now have even more direct API (Application Programming Interface) access to a trusted data source in the local search ecosystem.

This new source is Factual, a data company that helps developers, publishers, and advertisers to build more relevant and personalized mobile experiences using the context of location. Factual’s Global Places data encompasses more than 65 million local businesses and other points of interest in about 50 countries.

As a newly-approved Factual Trusted Data Contributor, Rio SEO local search customers will now have “priority trusted” access to the Factual data set within their software to syndicate the most up-to-date local business information.

“Our customers now have a competitive advantage to syndicate and change their trusted local business data in the Factual database,” said Bill Connard, vice president for local search solutions at Rio SEO. “Clients can see how their business information is indexed in Factual’s system and make data updates with ease. Big brands and national retailers with hundreds or thousands of locations can communicate the most current, enhanced local business information possible with just a few clicks.”

Rio SEO customers can provide in-depth, local business data and location-specific web page links to Factual’s service, leading to greater local search engine visibility when prospects and consumers conduct search queries for products, services, and convenient business locations.

“Optimally enhanced local business data have huge credibility with mobile apps, social networks, and the search engines,” Connard added. “Businesses that optimize well are rewarded with prime real estate in search results. We couldn’t be more pleased about Factual selecting our clients’ data as trusted data.”

Businesses already using Rio SEO Store Finder™, Map Optimizer™, and/or Listing Management™ software will now all have full access to update their local data on the Factual platform.

Rio SEO recently received a 2014 Ad to Action award from the Local Search Association in the Business Listings category for its Local Listing Manager solution. At the inaugural award ceremony in Huntington Beach, Calif., Connard received the award from Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak. Previously, Rio SEO was recognized as “the only leader” in The Forrester Wave™: SEO Platforms, Q4 2012, in which the firm was singled out as “the best fit for discovery marketers who want to optimize their content across multiple discovery platforms, not just search engines.”

I recently attended and was a speaker at the 4th International Internet of @ThingsExpo at the Santa Clara Convention Center. I also had the opportunity to attend this event last year and I wrote a blog from that show talking about how the “Enterprise Impact of IoT” was a key theme of last year’s show. Cloud computing delivers on-demand resources that provide businesses with flexibility and cost-savings. The challenge in moving workloads to the cloud has been the cost and complexity of ensuring the initial and ongoing security and regulatory (PCI, HIPAA, FFIEC) compliance across private and public clouds. Manual security compliance is slow, prone to human error, and represents over 50% of the cost of managing cloud applications. Determining how to automate cloud security compliance is critical...
