BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/28/14 -- Paula E. Payton has been named Chief Commercial Officer, announced today by Corrine Vitolo, Chief Executive Officer of SmartSports. The appointment will be effective October 16, 2014, with Ms. Payton reporting to Ms. Vitolo.
In this role, Ms. Payton will be responsible for leading strategy, corporate positioning, brand innovation and insight activities for SmartKage.

Ms. Payton most recently served as a Director at New York University's School of Professional and Continuing Studies, where she had oversight for their flagship graduate degrees and professional certificates in the division of business programs. At NYU, she developed innovative programming in areas such as storytelling, digital marketing, and analytics, as well as running an academic department comprised of nearly 400 faculty members from leading companies in marketing, public relations / corporate communications, and media.
Prior, she developed and managed customer-specific marketing programs for consumer goods and retail clients, with responsibilities including strategy, shopper marketing, corporate sponsorships, and stewardship, media and agency relations. Trained as a cognitive psychologist, Paula is expert in using consumer insight to help clients build brands and customer experiences profitably.
She has been educated at Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management, University of Chicago and University of Vermont.
