GENEVA, SWITZERLAND -- (Marketwired) -- 07/28/14 -- Recent new scientific reports are finding substantial statistical evidence linking childhood autism to pesticide use. Pregnant women who live near farmland where pesticides are used show an astonishing 60% increase in the likelihood of giving birth to children with autism or other developmental issues. Considering this increasing evidence of the dangers of conventional pesticides, makes organic, mineral-based fertilizers more attractive for agriculture use.
Particularly at issue are two widely-used pesticides, organophosphates and pyrethroids. Organophosphates are a class of compounds that have been mostly phased out of home bug and lawn sprays but which remain in commercial applications, meaning that anyone living in the vicinity of farmland is exposed to chemicals in their home that have been determined should not be in homes. Pyrethoids are still used in home insect sprays and are used in high volume in agricultural applications.
Vegalab, managed by investor and entrepreneur David Selakovic, is one company devoted to the manufacture of organic, eco-safe solutions in fertilizers, insecticides and fungicides. Vegalab's insecticides are based on the patented, proprietary micronization of geraniol. Geraniol is the primary part of rose oil, palmarosa oil, citronella oil as well as small quantities in geranium, lemon, and many other essential oils. It is an environmentally safe and a food-grade alternative to other synthetic toxins.
"It's becoming clear that pesticides we once thought of as 'safe' in fact, are not. While data continues to be gathered and analyzed, the trend is becoming clear," said David Selakovic, Vegalab's president who leads the company at its headquarters in Geneva. "While there may be an additional expense in using organic fertilizers and pesticides, the human cost of not switching is too frightening to risk." Vegalab is a pioneer in the field of formulating and manufacturing environmentally responsible agricultural products, based on years of biological research and patented technology. The company enjoys a great reputation among professional farmers, landscapers and hobby gardeners in countries around the world.
Vegalab's mineral-based fertilizers are equally safe and natural, based on iron sulfate, which is derived from sulfuric acid and iron (III) ion, both considered very "clean" sources of the compound. The result is an increase in the amount of absorbed nutrition, promoting healthy plants and crop enhancement, while at the same time decreasing the amounts of volatile residue in the soil.
Originally from Slovenia, David Selakovic has gained extensive experience in countries all over the world, including Singapore, USA, and Switzerland. His consistent record of building successful companies, creating high performance teams, and developing innovative strategic business initiatives for small to large corporations have made him a highly sought-after corporate adviser. He is as passionate about his work as a business leader as he is about the philanthropic work he and his wife, Leah Selakovic, are involved in.

Enterprise IT has been in the era of Hybrid Cloud for some time now. But it seems most conversations about Hybrid are focused on integrating AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google ECM into existing on-premises systems. Where is all the Private Cloud? What do technology providers need to do to make their offerings more compelling? How should enterprise IT executives and buyers define their focus, needs, and roadmap, and communicate that clearly to the providers?
