Dr. Judith McLeod, DNP, Program Director of the RN-BSN and MSN Programs at Stanbridge College, Has Been Named the 2014 Professional Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women

IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/29/14 -- Stanbridge College, a private college that offers Masters, Bachelor, and Associate of Science degrees and diploma programs in Allied Health and Information Technology, recognizes the achievement of Dr. Judith McLeod, DNP, as the 2014 Professional Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. Dr. McLeod is the Program Director of the Stanbridge College RN-BSN degree completion and Master of Science in Nursing programs. This award honors her for her leadership in nursing.

President of Stanbridge College, Mr. Yasith Weerasuryia stated, "We are very pleased to have Dr. McLeod be a part of our School of Nursing. She is a critical component to our operation and her years of experience bring an immeasurable value to our institution and academic services for our students. We laud her recognition from the National Association of Professional Women."

Dr. McLeod leads Stanbridge's RN-BSN and MSN programs with over 40 years of experience in the nursing field. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, earned her Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, Long Beach and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Fullerton. Prior to that, Dr. McLeod earned her Diploma from the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing. Before joining Stanbridge College, she was a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for more than ten years at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, California.

"As a little girl I knew I wanted to be in the medical field," stated Dr. McLeod. "My mother was a surgical nurse and I grew up hearing medical stories from her. At Johns Hopkins and throughout my training, there were always high expectations for me to do my best. I promised my mom I would get a degree and I made sure I went all the way to earn my doctorate."

Throughout her career, Dr. McLeod worked in a variety of areas in nursing including community health and home healthcare. It was ultimately pediatrics where she found her passion. With a strong emphasis on family, Dr. McLeod enjoyed her work as a labor and delivery nurse, working with new families and enjoying seeing the moment of birth.

"It's really important to learn from everything you do," stated Dr. McLeod. "At the moment you may question why things happen, and then later on you realize it happened for a reason. Your passion will help you get to the place you need to be."

Dr. McLeod continues to expand her experiences in nursing and hopes one day to start and manage a community health clinic offering services to the local Orange County community with opportunities for students to learn interdisciplinary skills.

Established in 1996, Stanbridge College offers vocational training in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Hemodialysis, Veterinary Technology and Information Technology. The Stanbridge College RN to BSN degree completion and Master of Science in Nursing programs are both offered online and allow working RNs to continue to expand their career in healthcare leadership and education. In June, the college announced the launch of their new Associate of Science in Nursing program designed to prepare students to obtain their Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with a comprehensive and highly integrated NCLEX-RN exam preparation. The ADN program allows students to transition easily to the RN-BSN and MSN programs to continue their educational and professional goals in nursing.

Digital Transformation is the ultimate goal of cloud computing and related initiatives. The phrase is certainly not a precise one, and as subject to hand-waving and distortion as any high-falutin' terminology in the world of information technology. Yet it is an excellent choice of words to describe what enterprise IT—and by extension, organizations in general—should be working to achieve. Digital Transformation means: handling all the data types being found and created in the organizat...
The essence of cloud computing is that all consumable IT resources are delivered as services. In his session at 15th Cloud Expo, Yung Chou, Technology Evangelist at Microsoft, demonstrated the concepts and implementations of two important cloud computing deliveries: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS). He discussed from business and technical viewpoints what exactly they are, why we care, how they are different and in what ways, and the strategies for IT to tran...

The Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), which enables organizations to seamlessly run in a hybrid cloud model (public + private cloud), is here to stay. The Internet of Things is not only adding billions of sensors and billions of terabytes to the Internet. It is also forcing a fundamental change in the way we envision Information Technology. For the first time, more data is being created by devices at the edge of the Internet rather than from centralized systems. What does this mean for today's IT professional? In this Power Panel at @ThingsExpo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, panelists addressed this very serious issue of pro...
Container technology is sending shock waves through the world of cloud computing. Heralded as the 'next big thing,' containers provide software owners a consistent way to package their software and dependencies while infrastructure operators benefit from a standard way to deploy and run them. Containers present new challenges for tracking usage due to their dynamic nature. They can also be deployed to bare metal, virtual machines and various cloud platforms. How do software owners track the usag...
With SaaS use rampant across organizations, how can IT departments track company data and maintain security? More and more departments are commissioning their own solutions and bypassing IT. A cloud environment is amorphous and powerful, allowing you to set up solutions for all of your user needs: document sharing and collaboration, mobile access, e-mail, even industry-specific applications. In his session at 16th Cloud Expo, Shawn Mills, President and a founder of Green House Data, discussed h...
Discussions about cloud computing are evolving into discussions about enterprise IT in general.
