FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwired - July 30, 2014) - CHG Healthcare Services now provides its 450 Florida employees with a comprehensive on-site health clinic at its Fort Lauderdale headquarters. Clinic services are offered to employees and their families free of charge, which is one of the ways the company is helping its people improve their overall health and wellness.
"An on-site clinic for our employees perfectly pairs with our core value of Putting People First," said Pat Kennedy, group president at CHG. "Providing easy access to high quality, convenient and cost-effective care is essential in taking care of our employees and their families."
Health and Cost Benefits
The clinic, a partnership with Marathon Health, provides a comprehensive health-management plan to south Florida employees including primary care services, health coaching, and disease management.
Health benefits from the clinic are also expected to translate into business success. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, companies that support workplace health realize decreased absenteeism and increased productivity.
"CHG is bringing together three components of healthcare service delivery for our employees and their families that are rarely seen in today's business environment -- care that is convenient, high quality and free," said Nicole Thurman, talent management director at CHG.
The new clinic will save an estimated $500,000 in claims during the first year. Additionally, as of January 2014, CHG estimates it has saved over $1.7 million in claims since opening an on-site health clinic at its Utah headquarters. Those savings -- resulting, in part, from the use of on-site services versus higher priced urgent care -- are used to keep insurance premiums low for employees and to expand services in the clinic.
A Commitment to Wellness
"Access to CHG's on-site healthcare services, including its full-sized gym and health coaching, completely changed my life for the better," said Taher Sadr, a Salt Lake City CHG Employee. "When I started working at CHG, I was 260 pounds and really depressed. Thanks to the clinic, I was able to design a plan with regular check-ups to keep me motivated to lose the weight, lower my blood pressure, and ultimately live a healthier lifestyle."
"CHG Healthcare Services provides medical services to those in need, so it makes sense to provide the same to its employees," said Greg Hiss, vice president of sales at Marathon Health. "Our goal is to ensure that all employees have direct access to a high-quality health center that results in a healthier, happier and more productive workplace."
Last year, CHG placed more than 10,000 medical providers across the nation who provided care to approximately 17 million people. CHG employs more than 1,700 people across seven offices nationwide, which are located in Salt Lake City, Utah; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Boca Raton, Fla.; Cary, N.C.; Norwalk, Conn.; Grand Rapids, Mich. and Edmond, Okla.

What happens when the different parts of a vehicle become smarter than the vehicle itself? As we move toward the era of smart everything, hundreds of entities in a vehicle that communicate with each other, the vehicle and external systems create a need for identity orchestration so that all entities work as a conglomerate. This promise is based on the ubiquitous deployment of smart, connected devices that link everything from industrial control systems to automobiles to refrigerators.
