Central Technology Services Switches from Cisco to Zix Email Encryption to Secure Financial Information

Zix Corporation (ZixCorp), (NASDAQ: ZIXI), a leader in email data protection, announces that Central Technology Services (CTS) has signed a four-year contract to protect sensitive information in email using Zix® Email Encryption. CTS made the switch from Cisco’s IronPort Encryption Appliance (IEA) to ZixCorp for its industry-leading transparency, encryption technology and support.

An affiliate of Central Bancompany, CTS provides banking operations to Central Bancompany’s financial service institutions, enabling 2,200 employees to communicate sensitive information securely. Whether the information is being sent to a Central Bancompany partner who also uses Zix Email Encryption or a customer who has no email encryption capabilities, ZixCorp offers flexible decryption and secure reply options.

“When we decided to update our email encryption solution, we found the best solution is offered by a company that focuses on email security,” said Mike Nanneman, Manager, Network Services at CTS. “With ZixCorp, we get a tested and trusted solution that is easy for our employees, customers and partners to use. Beyond its proven products and services, ZixCorp gives us first-class customer support and greatly simplified our transition from IEA.”

Zix Email Encryption is offered through Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) architecture, making it easy to install and maintain. ZixCorp’s SaaS architecture is supported by the ZixData CenterTM, a SysTryst/SOC3 certified, SOC2 accredited and PCI Level 1, DSS V2.0 certified facility with a track record of consistent 99.999 percent availability.

“Zix Email Encryption has a strong reputation in the financial industry, and we feel confident telling business partners and clients their data is being protected by Zix,” said Nanneman.

ZixCorp is the only email encryption vendor to offer automatic transparency for both senders and recipients without any additional setup. Through ZixGateway®, a policy-based email encryption service, outbound email communication is automatically scanned and encrypted if any sensitive content is identified in the subject line, message or attachments. Recipients who also use ZixGateway receive secure messages that are automatically decrypted without any extra steps or passwords. For any recipients that do not use Zix Email Encryption, secure emails can be accessed using ZixPort®, a mobile friendly, secure Web portal.

“Our focus as a company is email data protection,” said Rick Spurr, ZixCorp’s chairman and chief executive officer. “ZixCorp is committed to offering the most innovative and convenient email encryption solutions, and our continuous investment in enhancements gives our customers confidence that we’ll keep them current with changing technology.”
