LONDON and BRENTWOOD, Tenn., July 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Confirmation.com announced today that it has expanded its presence in Europe with the acquisition of ProConfirm Ltd, an electronic audit confirmation solution based in London, UK.  This acquisition reinforces Confirmation.com's leadership position as the global provider of secure online audit confirmation services and brings in ProConfirm's local expertise of the UK and European markets.

"In Europe, there is a growing interest in our online audit confirmation service as more accounting firms and banks look for ways to improve operational efficiencies, and reduce the chance of financial fraud going undetected," said Chris Schellhorn, CEO of Confirmation.com.

"We have had significant adoption in international markets of the Confirmation.com service these last two years," Brian Fox, president of Confirmation.com added. "With the acquisition of ProConfirm, this growth will continue at an even more rapid pace."

As part of this acquisition, ProConfirm will remain in London and integrate into the company's UK subsidiary, Confirmation.com UK, Ltd.  Adam Goodall and Samuel O'Connor, acting principles of ProConfirm, will oversee operations for the Confirmation.com UK office including marketing, sales and support of the Confirmation.com service.

"We are thrilled to have them on board and to have their expertise as we grow the European market."

"Confirmation.com has completely transformed how auditors and banks manage audit confirmations throughout the world," said O'Connor, commercial director of Confirmation.com UK.  "I'm very excited to join the company and support its growth in the UK and Europe."  "We had first-hand experience of how frustrating the old postal process is whilst working at a Big 4 accountancy firm," said Goodall, operations director of Confirmation.com UK. "There is huge demand for an electronic audit confirmation system in the UK and Europe, and Samuel and I are really looking forward to expanding the company's presence in this important market."

We all know that end users experience the internet primarily with mobile devices. Major trends and emerging technologies – from virtual reality and IoT, to Big Data and algorithms – are helping organizations innovate in the digital era. However, to create real business value, IT must think beyond the ‘what’ of digital transformation to the ‘how’ to harness emerging trends, innovation and disruption. HyperConvergence came to market with the objective of being simple, flexible and to help drive down operating expenses. It reduced the footprint by bundling the compute/storage/network into one box. This brought a new set of challenges as the HyperConverged vendors are very focused on their own proprietary building blocks. If you want to scale in a certain way, let's say you identified a need for more storage and want to add a device that is not sold by the HyperConverged vendor, forget about it...

One of the biggest challenges with adopting a DevOps mentality is: new applications are easily adapted to cloud-native, microservice-based, or containerized architectures - they can be built for them - but old applications need complex refactoring. On the other hand, these new technologies can require relearning or adapting new, oftentimes more complex, methodologies and tools to be ready for production. For better or worse, DevOps has gone mainstream. All doubt was removed when IBM and HP threw up their respective DevOps microsites. Where are we on the hype cycle? It's hard to say for sure but there's a feeling we're heading for the "Peak of Inflated Expectations." What does this mean for the enterprise? Should they avoid DevOps? Definitely not. Should they be cautious though? Absolutely. The truth is that DevOps and the enterprise are at best strange bedfellows. The movement has its roots in t...
