According to the article, "There is ample room for improvement, with better employer engagement and communication with employees being essential steps, according to MetLife's 12th Annual Employee Benefits Trends Study. While half of employees surveyed stated they were happy with the benefits offered, nearly 40 percent didn't feel confident that they're making the right decisions in choosing them."
The article went on to say, "In fact, employees on average spend only 20 minutes making their annual enrollment selections. Only 20 percent carefully review benefits options before finalizing their choices. Alarmingly, 61 percent race through the process upon HR notification by immediately enrolling as if to check the task off on their to-do list."
Mark Gajowski, CFP, CLU, CEBS founder and CEO of magii says, "At magii, we have long known the true statistics that most employees spend significantly more time planning their vacations than on the benefit plans that will cover and protect themselves and their families. This is why we are huge proponents of leveraging both 'low' tech (face-to-face education), with 'high' tech, which is online benefits access/enrollment. In our opinion, this is the best way to reach staff and help them make truly informed decisions in their best interests."
Mr. Gajowski continues, "This, we have found, covers both those who need more detail, and those who want to access from their 'smart' technology at a time that is convenient for them. In our experience, this only works when you have the support of the employer or plan-sponsor. At magii, we focus on working with employers who care about both their employees and their bottom line."
magii, Inc is an wealth management and retirement advisory firm for successful business executives and near retirees who desire financial peace of mind. magii is located in Long Island, NY and serves clients in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
