AbelsonTaylor Introduces dose Studio to Increase Engagements Using Video

AbelsonTaylor, one of the largest independent healthcare ad agencies in the world, is introducing a top-of-the-line studio that will specialize in high-tech animation, online video and film/video production as client demands for greater forms of engagement increase. The studio is named dose, which speaks of the agency’s ability to create magic for clients, one dose at a time.

“Our clients are increasingly asking for more video engagement products,” says Stephen Neale, senior vice president and executive creative director for AbelsonTaylor. “Dose was created to fulfill those needs. Having a state-of-the-art studio in-house also adds another layer of expertise that we can offer.”

“Video consumption and engagement are increasing rapidly, especially across mobile devices,” adds Mitch Apley, senior director of broadcast productions for AbelsonTaylor. “With dose we’ll be able to execute not just social video marketing for mobile products, but also traditional forms of video, such as thought leadership and promotional brand stories.”

Apley has recently been tapped to lead the studio. Prior to joining AbelsonTaylor two years ago, he was an executive producer for Resolution Digital Studios, which designs and delivers distinctive content for film, advertising, marketing and corporate entities. Apley is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Communications.

The introduction of dose points to the growing trend of video consumption. According to an Accenture 2013 consumer survey, nearly 90 percent of US consumers are watching video content over the Internet on any device. And mobile video sharing site Animoto reports that 71 percent of people who consume videos say they are more likely to have a positive view of companies that produce video content for their brands.

The studio dose will have green screen capabilities and house a recording booth, editing suite and lounge. It also will have access to high tech camera and lighting. More importantly, it will be staffed by award-winning designers, writers, producers and directors. In fact, members of the dose team won Best Film for Chicago, Best Editing and Best Cinematography for a short film they submitted at an international competition called the 48-Hour Film Festival.

Director of creative services Dave Pasciuto will lead the creative for the studio. Pasciuto has more than 20 years’ experience working in the film, broadcast and gaming industries as a 3D artist, designer, compositor and animator. Pasciuto has lent his talents to companies such as Disney, ESPN and Amon Tobin. He also worked on such projects as “Harold and Kumar go to White Castle” and “Tony Hawk: Ride, Shred, and HD.” For more information about dose and to view some of its clips, visit www.abelsontaylor.com/dose.

Today we can collect lots and lots of performance data. We build beautiful dashboards and even have fancy query languages to access and transform the data. Still performance data is a secret language only a couple of people understand. They have a question on their mind like “How is my application doing” but no id...

In IT, we sometimes coin terms for things before we know exactly what they are and how they’ll be used. The resulting terms may capture a common set of aspirations and goals – as “cloud” did broadly for on-demand, self-service, and flexible computing. But such a term can also lump together diverse and even competing practices, technologies, and priorities to the point where important distinctions are glossed over and lost.
Predictive analytics tools monitor, report, and troubleshoot in order to make proactive decisions about the health, performance, and utilization of storage. Most enterprises combine cloud and on-premise storage, resulting in blended environments of physical, virtual, cloud, and other platforms, which justifies more sophisticated storage analytics. All clouds are not equal. To succeed in a DevOps context, organizations should plan to develop/deploy apps across a choice of on-premise and public clouds simultaneously depending on the business needs. This is where the concept of the Lean Cloud comes in - resting on the idea that you often need to relocate your app modules over their life cycles for both innovation and operational efficiency in the cloud. Information technology is an industry that has always experienced change, and the dramatic change sweeping across the industry today could not be truthfully described as the first time we've seen such widespread change impacting customer investments. The Internet of Things (IoT) promises to simplify and streamline our lives by automating routine tasks that distract us from our goals. This promise is based on the ubiquitous deployment of smart, connected devices that link everything from industrial control systems to automobiles to refrigerators.
