PEAK® Antifreeze & Coolant And Michael Waltrip Racing Announce Christian PaHud As The 2014 "PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge" Winner

Racing Dream Becomes a Reality for 21-year-old Grassroots Driver; Wins PEAK® Racing Sponsorship

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Aug. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The checkered flag is out on the 2014 PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge. After 18 finalists put their skills to the test during a rigorous three-day, on-track racing competition in Charlotte, N.C., PEAK® Antifreeze &_Coolant and Michael Waltrip Racing (MWR) are proud to announce Christian PaHud of Dayton, Ohio as the PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge winner of a PEAK racing sponsorship in an upcoming NASCAR K&N Pro Series race.

After submitting a video entry, PaHud was selected from a pool of hundreds of aspiring racers to compete as one of 18 finalists under the guidance of Michael Waltrip, Clint Bowyer, Brian Vickers, Danica Patrick and Jeff Burton, for a chance to win a PEAK racing sponsorship. The three-day competition tested the finalists through short-track, road course, speedway, car control, dirt track, and endurance racing, along with marketing and communication elements critical to the sponsorship-driven sport.

"We were very impressed with the raw talent that all 18 finalists had this year at the PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge, but Christian's on-track ability and poise as a young driver brought him to the top," said Bryan Emrich, Chief Marketing Office for PEAK. "Christian has a lot of potential to excel in this sport and we're confident that he'll make the most out of this opportunity."

As a result of winning the PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge, PEAK is providing PaHud with the opportunity to qualify and race in a Bill McAnally Racing NASCAR K&N Pro Series car on October 11th at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif., alongside teammate and fellow competitor, Michael Waltrip himself.

PaHud, 21 is a third generation driver who has committed his life both on and off the track to racing. Residing in North Carolina by way of Dayton, Ohio, he currently races stock cars in the Southeast Limited Late Model Series and is pursuing his Associates Degree in Applied Science. PaHud started his first go-kart race on his fourth birthday, and following races, would often climb out of his go-kart and into his car seat for the ride home. He worked his way up through legends cars and late models, and has more than 250 career races under his belt.

"Winning the PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge is the highlight of my racing career. Knowing that PEAK, Michael Waltrip and Clint Bowyer were watching me and believe that I have what it takes to make it big is a huge honor," said Christian PaHud. "PEAK has given me an unbelievable opportunity, and I'm ready to get out there and win for them. My chance is here and it's now."

Michael Waltrip, founder and co-owner of MWR, added, "Michael Waltrip Racing appreciates what everyone at PEAK does to put this Challenge on. There are not a lot of opportunities like that in this sport, and PEAK has proven that this program really works. It was an intense competition this year, but Christian's speed and car control really made him stand out among the 18 finalists.  I believe that Christian has every chance of winning in the NASCAR K&N series just like Patrick Starapoli, last year's winner, did at Irwindale."

PEAK has been actively involved in motorsports for more than 30 years, showcasing the excellence and competitive quality of its family of brands through NASCAR, the NHRA, the TORC short course off-road series, and more. In 2012, PEAK joined forces with Michael Waltrip Racing to become a primary sponsor on Clint Bowyer's No. 15 Toyota. The company's BlueDEF® brand was the primary sponsor on Michael Waltrip's No. 66 Toyota at NASCAR Sprint Cup races in Daytona and Talladega this season. PEAK is also featured as an associate sponsor on the No. 55 MWR car.

The 2014 PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge was filmed for TV coverage that premiered on August 2nd at 9PM ET on Velocity during Dream Car Week.  For more information and exclusive behind-the-scenes PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge content, follow @PEAKAuto on Twitter and check out

When it comes to IoT in the enterprise, namely the commercial building and hospitality markets, a benefit not getting the attention it deserves is energy efficiency, and IoT’s direct impact on a cleaner, greener environment when installed in smart buildings. Until now clean technology was offered piecemeal and led with point solutions that require significant systems integration to orchestrate and deploy. There didn't exist a 'top down' approach that can manage and monitor the way a Smart Buildi...
DevOps is gaining traction in the federal government – and for good reasons. Heightened user expectations are pushing IT organizations to accelerate application development and support more innovation. At the same time, budgetary constraints require that agencies find ways to decrease the cost of developing, maintaining, and running applications. IT now faces a daunting task: do more and react faster than ever before – all with fewer resources.

VividCortex is the first unified suite of database monitoring tools specifically desi...
Organizations already struggle with the simple collection of data resulting from the proliferation of IoT, lacking the right infrastructure to manage it. They can't only rely on the cloud to collect and utilize this data because many applications still require dedicated infrastructure for security, redundancy, performance, etc. In his session at 17th Cloud Expo, Emil Sayegh, CEO of Codero Hosting, will discuss how in order to resolve the inherent issues, companies need to combine dedicated a...
Mobile, social, Big Data, and cloud have fundamentally changed the way we live. “Anytime, anywhere” access to data and information is no longer a luxury; it’s a requirement, in both our personal and professional lives. For IT organizations, this means pressure has never been greater to deliver meaningful services to the business and customers.
Recently announced Azure Data Lake addresses the big data 3V challenges; volume, velocity and variety. It is one more storage feature in addition to blobs and SQL Azure database. Azure Data Lake (should have been Azure Data Ocean IMHO) is really omnipotent. Just look at the key capabilities of Azure Data Lake:
Cloud computing delivers on-demand resources that provide businesses with flexibility and cost-savings. The challenge in moving workloads to the cloud has been the cost and complexity of ensuring the initial and ongoing security and regulatory (PCI, HIPAA, FFIEC) compliance across private and public clouds. Manual security compliance is slow, prone to human error, and represents over 50% of the cost of managing cloud applications. Determining how to automate cloud security compliance is critical...

As-a-service models offer huge opportunities, but also complicate security. It may seem that the easiest way to migrate to a new architectural model is to let others, experts in their field, do the work. This has given rise to many as-a-service models throughout the industry and across the entire technology stack, from software to infrastructure. While this has unlocked huge opportunities to accelerate the deployment of new capabilities or increase economic efficiencies within an organization, i...
Culture is the most important ingredient of DevOps. The challenge for most organizations is defining and communicating a vision of beneficial DevOps culture for their organizations, and then facilitating the changes needed to achieve that. Often this comes down to an ability to provide true leadership. As a CIO, are your direct reports IT managers or are they IT leaders? The hard truth is that many IT managers have risen through the ranks based on their technical skills, not their leadership ab...

Mobile messaging has been a popular communication channel for more than 20 years. Finnish engineer Matti Makkonen invented the idea for SMS (Short Message Service) in 1984, making his vision a reality on December 3, 1992 by sending the first message ("Happy Christmas") from a PC to a cell phone. Since then, the technology has evolved immensely, from both a technology standpoint, and in our everyday uses for it. Originally used for person-to-person (P2P) communication, i.e., Sally sends a text...
