IP Commerce, Inc. and First Data Corporation, the global leader in payment technology and services solutions, today announced the launch of Commerce Sync® on Clover™ Station, First Data’s innovative, cloud-based business control and payment platform that puts a robust business application marketplace at the merchant’s fingertips.
Commerce Sync, now available in the Clover App Market, is a powerful new service that saves small business owners and accountants valuable time by eliminating the tedious and error-prone process of manual data entry. After downloading the service from the Clover App Market, Commerce Sync automatically transfers Clover™ Station sales information to QuickBooks® accounting software.
Commerce Sync can be activated in minutes directly from the Clover point-of-sale platform and the service seamlessly synchronizes the data that merchants use to manage and run their businesses. Commerce Sync then transfers all individual sales transactions to any QuickBooks online or desktop account with support for all payment types, discounts, sales tax, tips and merchant-entered transaction notes.
According to Intuit, U.S. small and medium sized businesses spend seven billion hours each year managing their finances. Commerce Sync relieves business owners of this burden, reducing the time spent on manual data entry and increasing the accuracy of their financial accounting. Commerce Sync can save a typical small business owner more than 180 hours each year.
“We help businesses become more efficient. This is what we do,” said Charlie Wilson, President and CEO of IP Commerce. “Commerce Sync gives back hours of time each week to overworked small business owners. Business owners now have the freedom to spend time on more important things at work or away from it. We are thrilled to be launching with Clover. Like us, Clover is committed to the needs of small business owners.”
Commerce Sync joins a growing list of available applications for businesses in the Clover App Market, which enables third party developers to distribute their products to merchants using Clover. “We are incredibly thrilled to add Commerce Sync to the Clover App Market,” said Leonard Speiser, president Clover Network Inc. “Clover was developed to address the unique and diverse needs of America’s 28 million small business owners and to help those businesses grow. Solutions like Commerce Sync, a highly robust app that supports both QuickBooks’ desktop and online customers, provide merchants with the tools they need so they can focus more time on their customers and businesses, and less time on data entry.”
“This is all about giving small business owners the benefits of another seamless QuickBooks integration that saves them time,” said Ronny Tey, Group Marketing Manager for QuickBooks Apps.com. “QuickBooks Online is the worldwide leader in cloud business management because it offers best-in-class tools, like Commerce Sync, that are tailored to meet the needs of small businesses.”
Commerce Sync can be activated directly through the Clover Station and is available to all new and existing Clover customers.

In this strange new world where more and more power is drawn from business technology, companies are effectively straddling two paths on the road to innovation and transformation into digital enterprises. The first path is the heritage trail – with “legacy” technology forming the background. Here, extant technologies are transformed by core IT teams to provide more API-driven approaches. Legacy systems can restrict companies that are transitioning into digital enterprises. To truly become a lead...

In IT, we sometimes coin terms for things before we know exactly what they are and how they’ll be used. The resulting terms may capture a common set of aspirations and goals – as “cloud” did broadly for on-demand, self-service, and flexible computing. But such a term can also lump together diverse and even competing practices, technologies, and priorities to the point where important distinctions are glossed over and lost.

All clouds are not equal. To succeed in a DevOps context, organizations should plan to develop/deploy apps across a choice of on-premise and public clouds simultaneously depending on the business needs. This is where the concept of the Lean Cloud comes in - resting on the idea that you often need to relocate your app modules over their life cycles for both innovation and operational efficiency in the cloud. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at19th Cloud Expo, Valentin (Val) Bercovici, CTO of Soli...

"Once customers get a year into their IoT deployments, they start to realize that they may have been shortsighted in the ways they built out their deployment and the key thing I see a lot of people looking at is - how can I take equipment data, pull it back in an IoT solution and show it in a dashboard," stated Dave McCarthy, Director of Products at Bsquare Corporation, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held November 1-3, 2016, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.

What happens when the different parts of a vehicle become smarter than the vehicle itself? As we move toward the era of smart everything, hundreds of entities in a vehicle that communicate with each other, the vehicle and external systems create a need for identity orchestration so that all entities work as a conglomerate. Much like an orchestra without a conductor, without the ability to secure, control, and connect the link between a vehicle’s head unit, devices, and systems and to manage the ...

The Internet of Things (IoT) promises to simplify and streamline our lives by automating routine tasks that distract us from our goals. This promise is based on the ubiquitous deployment of smart, connected devices that link everything from industrial control systems to automobiles to refrigerators. Unfortunately, comparatively few of the devices currently deployed have been developed with an eye toward security, and as the DDoS attacks of late October 2016 have demonstrated, this oversight can ...
