Online Students Log in August 5th to Start School Year

Arizona Virtual Academy and Insight School of Arizona welcome students in grades K-12

PHOENIX, Aug. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Hundreds of students enrolled in Arizona Virtual Academy and Insight Academy of Arizona, public online schools serving students in grades K–12 and 7–12, respectively, will go back to school without leaving their homes on Tuesday, August 5.

"We seek to empower students to think critically, achieve academic success and personal growth," said Cindy Wright Carter, Head of School of Arizona Virtual Academy and Insight Academy of Arizona. "Students work closely with highly qualified state certified teachers in a virtual environment that includes a complete and comprehensive award-winning grade level curriculum, supplementary materials, and the use of a computer system, if eligible, provided by K12."

Both schools provide students with the opportunity to learn in the ways that are right for them, in both core subject areas and electives. In addition, both AZVA and Insight offer a variety of blended learning centers across the state, including a partnership with the Valley of the Sun YMCAs, in order to provide face-to-face alongside the virtual instruction.

Arizona Virtual Academy provides an active, supportive community, a range of extracurricular activities, and a robust Advanced Learner Program, whose primary focus is to help students reach their natural potential through a dynamic learning environment.

Insight Academy of Arizona utilizes a unique social, emotional, and academic program to provide targeted support to students who have struggled academically, or need additional support. The school's support staff, including advisors, counselors, and a social worker provide additional social and emotional support through the use of a teen parenting class and support groups in order to move all students toward graduation and their future goals.
