KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- DST Systems, Inc. (NYSE: DST) today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Stephen C. Hooley, DST's President and Chief Executive Officer, as Chairman of the Board, effective immediately. The Board remains comprised of six members, five of whom are independent, and Lowell L. Bryan remains Lead Independent Director of the Board.
Mr. Bryan said, "Steve has proven to be an outstanding leader of DST for more than a decade, including through his current role as CEO, as well as through his service on the Board over the past two years. During his tenure, he has helped develop and execute on a strategy that is delivering solid operating results, improving the Company's financial performance and creating significant value for shareholders. He has been a tremendous liaison between management and the Board, and I am confident that all of our stakeholders will benefit from his service in this additional capacity.
