Egdorf to Managing Attorney, Commercial Litigation, for the Houston office. His responsibilities will include overseeing all the office's commercial litigation cases while continuing to expand the firm's national presence in sports and entertainment litigation.
Mr. Egdorf is a frequent source for news media on legal issues in sports and has served as counsel in numerous sports-related claims, including the recent landmark settlement with EA Sports and the Collegiate Licensing Co. over the unauthorized use of the names and likenesses of thousands of current and former NCAA student-athletes. He also is a certified contract adviser for the NFL Players Association and the Canadian Football League.
Mr. Egdor's courtroom record includes multiple high-profile verdicts and settlements. He currently is coordinating the firm's litigation against General Motors over faulty ignition switches. Mr. Egdorf also spearheaded the firm's role on the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee in the Toyota "sudden acceleration" litigation, which led to a $1.2 billion class-action settlement and individual recoveries for numerous plaintiffs.
