The Grid℠, G2 Crowd's software recommendation engine, factors in customer satisfaction reported by users and vendor market presence determined from social and public data to rank products.

E-Signature refers to software platforms designed to gather signatures without printing a document and physically signing. E-Signature software allows companies to reduce the cycle time to gather signatures as well as reduce costs of gathering and storing signatures on paper.

To qualify as a Leader, a product must receive a high customer satisfaction score and have substantial market presence. DocuSign, Silanis e-SignLive and Adobe EchoSign were named Leaders, and High Performers were RightSignature and Sertifi; they earned high customer satisfaction scores with a smaller market presence.

RightSignature showed significant improvement in its satisfaction scores, while Sertifi went from Niche to High Performer since the Winter report, which was released in January 2014.

As part of the software review process, HR professionals scored specific features of the products they use. Overall, G2 Crowd users were highly satisfied with the e-signature products they reviewed. They found e-signature products to be intuitive and easy to use. Businesses switching from a paper signature process to an e-signature solution were most satisfied with the time saved in the signature process, the online documentation, and the paper-free environment it created.

Document signing was the highest-rated e-signature software feature (95% satisfaction rate), and the lowest-rated feature was the reporting (89% satisfaction rate). Across all e-signature products, reviewers reported the product they use meets their requirements at an average rate of 92%, and on average reviewers said they were 91% likely to recommend the product they use.

Some highlights from the e-signature software reviews on G2 Crowd:

"DocuSign has features that allow for broad use across the entire enterprise. From Web available forms, to electronic signature, multiple user workflow, and conditional field responses...you can use it for everything."
- Elizabeth Guerra, Sales Systems PMO Associate at LinkedIn

"[Silanis'] out-of-the-box abilities using the website to setup signing ceremonies works very well, and most of [our team members] that have used it really enjoy the process...Also, we have received really great support from the teams at Silanis for pretty much any question we could have."
- Ron Eddy, Lead Software Developer at U.S. Bank

"We were looking for a new e-sign service for our contracts and [Adobe EchoSign] fit the bill. We do about 30,000 docs a year and were able to save 50% in cost over competitors when going to EchoSign. When working with the API we were able to get something in to our testing environment within a day with them."
- Jason Hugger, Software Development Manager at Advisors Asset Management, Inc.

Of the 34 e-signature software vendors listed on G2 Crowd, the six ranked products each received 10 or more ratings and reviews to qualify for inclusion on the Grid℠. Satisfaction rankings are generated from the user reviews, and market presence is calculated from vendor size, market share, and social impact. Based on a combination of these scores, each software solution is categorized as a Leader, High Performer, Contender, or Niche.

Premium research access can be purchased on the site for $599 and offers the original data for filtering and weighting, as well as individual profiles of each software platform with the most helpful positive and negative e-signature software reviews, detailed company information, user satisfaction ratings, feature scores and customer metrics.
