Balkan Plumbing Deals for R. D'Attile Sewer and Water Main Contractors' Client List

RICHMOND HILL, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 08/05/14 -- Balkan Plumbing announced today that the Richmond Hill, N.Y. company has acquired the client base of R. D'Attile Sewer and Water Main Contractors. The friendly takeover follows D'Attile's decision to leave the NYC sewer and water main industry after 40 years in the business.

In commenting on the acquisition of R. D'Attile's list of clients, Balkan Plumbing owner David Balkan said, "I've known the D'Attile family personally and through business for over 40 years. I am honored that they have counted on the Balkan team to continue their tradition of fine service."

The D'Attile family plumbing business has earned a stellar reputation in the local community as well as in the plumbing industry. They are known for their family values, honesty and integrity, all of which were a big part of their business practices. When Robert D'Attile decided to leave the NYC sewer and water main industry to pursue other interests, he had a tough decision to make regarding who to trust with the hard-earned reputation he and his family had established in the business.

Based on their mutual respect and trust D'Attile's choice was clear, opting for David Balkan and Balkan Plumbing. A handshake sealed the deal and the two client bases were combined in short order.

"We speak on a regular basis," said Balkan in commenting on the taking on D'Attile's clients. "Robert still provides a lot of guidance about how to take care of his old customers," he added.

Balkan Plumbing now has a much larger list of clients to service, and as such it wasn't long after the deal was made with D'Attile that David Balkan announced that the company would be hiring additional workers to make sure that all of the customers are being serviced properly. The company is actively seeking fulltime, year-round backhoe operators and crew leaders to handle the increased load.

Balkan Plumbing is the largest family owned sewer and water main company in New York City. The company handles all sewer and water main projects including DEP notifications and violations, service line disconnections, sewer check valves and gates, private mains and fire sprinklers, installations and upgrades, repairs and replacements, sewer alarm and spill monitoring and manholes, catch basins and drains.

About Balkan Plumbing: Balkan Plumbing is a full-service sewer and water main contracting business located in the Richmond Hill section of Queens, N.Y. The company was established in 1952 and has been servicing the greater NYC metropolitan area ever since. Balkan Plumbing is the oldest subsurface plumbing firm operating under the same family name in NYC.

As enterprises work to take advantage of Big Data technologies, they frequently become distracted by product-level decisions. Eighty percent of a data scientist’s time is spent gathering and cleaning up data, and 80% of all data is unstructured and almost never analyzed. Cognitive computing, in combination with Big Data, is changing the equation by creating data reservoirs and using natural language processing to enable analysis of unstructured data sources. This is impacting every aspect of the analytics profession from how data is mined (and by whom) to how it is delivered. This is not some futuristic vision: it's ha...

It's easy to assume that your app will run on a fast and reliable network. The reality for your app's users, though, is often a slow, unreliable network with spotty coverage. What happens when the network doesn't work, or when the device is in airplane mode? You get unhappy, frustrated users. An offline-first app is an app that works, without error, when there is no network connection.
