Zayo Group, LLC (“Zayo”) today announced company sponsorship and participation in the fourth annual B Strong Ride, a cycling event set to take place in Boulder County on Saturday, Aug. 9. B Strong participants are cyclists of all ages and abilities who bike to honor cancer survivors and support local and national care organizations, including Boulder Community Hospital Center for Integrative Care and the George Karl Foundation. The B Strong Ride funds a full-year of cancer care at Boulder Community Hospital Center for Integrative Care.
As a corporate sponsor of the ride, more than 60 Zayo employees plan to participate, including most of Zayo’s executive team. In addition to company sponsorship of the event, Zayo employees have helped raise over $20k through online contributions from employees, donations from family and friends, and the sale of custom Zayo cycling jerseys.
The B Strong event features three courses including the one-mile “Mini B” course for children 10 years old and younger, the 24-mile “Countryside Loop” and the 69-mile “Mountain Loop” for more experienced riders. To prepare for the ride, Zayo cyclists participated in group training rides with fellow team members, providing an opportunity to develop camaraderie with teammates.
“The B Strong Ride provides a great opportunity to not only celebrate those who have beat cancer, but also support those who are fighting,” said Dan Caruso, chairman and CEO of Zayo Group. “In our fourth year as a sponsor, we have a record number of employees participating and donating, and we’re really looking forward to being a part of this event once again.”
“Zayo has been a strong supporter of the B Strong Ride since the beginning,” said Paul Balaguer, event director of the B Strong Ride. “We truly appreciate their support of the Boulder community, B Strong Ride and our beneficiaries.”
