NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - August 06, 2014) - Ghostery, Inc. a global marketing technology company that provides online transparency and control to individuals and businesses, announced today it will host a webinar, "Preparing for the Cookie Sweep" on Tuesday, August 21 at 10:00am EST/3:00PM BST, and will feature a panel discussion by industry subject matter experts. Vincent Toubiana, IT Expert, from the French Data Protection Authority, the CNIL, and Eduardo Ustaran, Partner at the law firm of Hogan Lovells, will join the webinar to help enterprises prepare for the upcoming 'Cookie Sweep' that will be conducted by the CNIL.
The ePrivacy Directive ('cookie law') is once again garnering scrutiny of EU regulators. The CNIL recently announced that it will conduct a 'Cookie Sweep' of websites under its jurisdiction during the week of September 15, 2014 to audit for compliance with France's cookie law.
In this webinar, participants will:
- Hear directly from the CNIL on why they are conducting this 'Cookie Sweep', what they will be looking for, and how this impacts all of us.
- Learn about the evolving data protection landscape within the EU and how regulators are thinking about priority enforcement issues.
- Hear about privacy innovation and how the CNIL is staying current with trends in the marketplace.
"With the deadline imminent, there are simple and immediate steps companies should take to ensure their website is in compliance with the mandate. Ghostery Enterprise's Site Notice product is flexibly architected for best practice compliance, and has been enhanced in accordance with the CNIL's recent guidance to help organizations prepare for these upcoming changes," said Todd Ruback.
