THE BIG INTERVIEW with Cowell comes on the heels of AXS TV's landmark announcement today of the mega-hit THE X FACTOR produced in the UK joining the network beginning Sunday, August 31. AXS TV is the official U.S. broadcast home for the upcoming eleventh season, featuring the much-anticipated return of Cowell to the judging panel.

On what viewers can expect this season on THE X FACTOR, Cowell told Rather - "I think it's going to be a good year.  Some of the older contestants this year are really good.  It's going be very competitive.  I think it's going be a great season."

Rather and Cowell also talked about his judging style.

Rather:
Any chance you'll dial back a little and make it not quite as direct?

Cowell:
No.

Rather:
Assessments not quite as honest as brutal?

Cowell (says with a chuckle):
No, it'll be exactly what you expect.  People know what to expect.

AXS TV's THE BIG INTERVIEW with Simon Cowell marks the return of the series with all new episodes. Other luminaries sitting down with Rather this fall include Country Music Hall of Famers Loretta Lynn and Kenny Rogers, musician Jack White, and rock and roller Jerry Lee Lewis, among others.
