Aeromexico Reports 6.8% Passenger Increase for July 2014

-- Load factor of 84.6% for the month of July

MEXICO CITY, Aug. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B. de C.V. ("Aeromexico") (BMV: AEROMEX) the largest airline in Mexico, reports its operating statistics for July 2014.

  • Grupo Aeromexico transported 1 million 575 thousand passengers in July; a 6.8% year-on-year increase, which represents a record number of monthly transported passengers in the history of the company. International market passenger numbers increased by 15.1%, while domestic market passenger numbers increased by 3.0%.
  • Demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), increased by 12.1%, year-on-year. Aeromexico's capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased by 14.6% year-on-year.
  • Aeromexico's July load factor was 84.6%.

  • "Load Factor" equals the number of passengers transported as a percentage of the number of seats offered. It is a measure of the airline's capacity utilization. This metric takes into account the total passengers transported and total seats available in itinerary flights.
  • "Passengers" refers to the total number of passengers transported by the airline.
