BOSTON, Aug. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CompuGroup Medical US (CGM) has announced the appointment of Werner Rodorff as Chief Executive Officer and Senior Vice President North America, effective immediately. Werner's appointment follows the departure of Norbert H. Fischl, former Chief Executive Officer of CGM US and Senior Vice President North America.

Kent Brostrom, who joined CGM US in 2013, remains on the executive team as Chief Operating Officer, CGM US. The leadership transition serves as an opportunity for CGM US to continue leveraging resources effectively while simultaneously strengthening the commitment to executing a business strategy that supports customer satisfaction, continuous growth and financial stability.

Werner joined CGM US in 2009 and since then, he has served in previous roles as Vice President of Research and Development, Chief Technology Officer and most recently, General Manager of the company's Health Connectivity Services (HCS) Division where he had strategic oversight of the company's state-of-the-art disease management platform, Software Assisted Medicine (SAM). Based on strong principles of entrepreneurship, Werner successfully led strategic business development and growth efforts for SAM, laying a solid foundation for profitability in the US. Notable among his many successes with CGM US, is his role in the integration and adaptation of the company's software products to suit the specific needs of the US Ambulatory Information Systems market.  Having lived and worked in the US for several years, Werner has a firm grasp on the unique dynamics of the US healthcare software market.

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare software and Information Technology, Werner has also held multiple leadership positions at different CGM locations worldwide, including Ankara and Istanbul in Turkey, as well as the global headquarters based in Koblenz, Germany. His vast global experience, coupled with his comprehensive knowledge of the local US market, serves as a valuable asset to the company.

"With his extensive leadership experience, Werner Rodorff brings with him an impressive wealth of knowledge and I am confident that he will take our company further along the path of accelerated growth that is a reflection of our global expertise in healthcare software and services. We are grateful to Norbert Fischl for his dedication and commitment to CGM during his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of CGM US," said Mr. Frank Gotthardt, Chief Executive Officer of CompuGroup Medical AG and Chairman of the Management Board.

On his new appointment, Werner said, "I'm honored to have been chosen to serve as Chief Executive Officer of CGM US and Senior Vice President North America. I look forward to strengthening our foundation in the US and expanding our customer base exponentially through a culture of commitment to service excellence and innovation, as we continue to deliver our competitive portfolio of reliable healthcare software solutions. With state-of-the-art solutions such as SAM, CGM US is poised to take on new challenges as a dominant player in the healthcare software market."

Speaking on his approach to leadership success, Werner said, "I strongly believe that culture is in essence an organization's operating environment: the implicit patterns of behavior, activities, and attitudes — shaped by a shared set of values and beliefs — that characterize the way people work together to shape a company's identity. I look forward to promoting an organizational culture that places the satisfaction of our customers at the top of our priority list while encouraging and rewarding the hard work of our employees."
