XUVO.COM LAUNCHES SOCIAL NETWORK AND E-COMMERCE SITE FOR EDM COMMUNITY

Partners with WP Engine for its world-class infrastructure

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- XUVO®, the world's first tablet cocktail mixer specially formulated to produce a neon glowing effect in drinks, announced today that it has launched its own social networking platform and e-commerce site aimed at electronic dance music (EDM) fans. Cult XUVO, as it has been dubbed, grants members exclusive access to upcoming XUVO-branded A-List events and concerts throughout the world. Cult members will be able to connect their Twitter feeds directly to their profiles on XUVO.com as well as private message other cult members through the site.  Similar to Twitter, XUVO will verify the accounts of celebrities and partners (referred to as Cult Leaders), identifying verified pages with a neon radiation symbol. Lifetime verified accounts (with an exclusive XUVO.CO short URL) are currently being offered to the first 500 members that donate $300 to the brand's Indiegogo campaign (http://xuvo.co/igg). These early adopters will receive a commemorative, individually numbered metallic certificate and their profiles featured on the founder's page at XUVO.com.

"EDM fans are at the forefront of fashion and pop culture. XUVO was inspired by electronic music and our products go hand in hand with the EDM lifestyle and culture," says XUVO founder and CEO Killian Wells. "Cult XUVO is for everyone though, not just partiers. EDM is a quickly growing movement that has infiltrated and encompassed other lifestyle genres like hip-hop; XUVO's mission as a brand is to be just as versatile as the music that inspired it," adds Wells.

Cult XUVO sets itself apart from other social networks and establishes its music-centric driven branding by allowing DJ and musician members to easily add direct links to their Soundcloud and iTunes artist pages in their profiles. They've also included a Vine link option for the growing number of Viners using the platform for promotion and stardom.

In addition to the social networking platform, XUVO.com will contain a pop culture blog, a retail locator, and an e-commerce store. There will also be a library of recipes featuring unique XUVO energy-infused, blacklight-reactive desserts and cocktails like the No-Bake XUVO Cheesecake and XUVO Stuff, an edible slime tribute inspired by the 1985 cult classic "The Stuff". Recipes can be shared via Pinterest or printed in recipe-card format. An online ticketing platform to offer revenue-generating opportunities for XUVO partner venues is also in the works.

Due to its large content offering, XUVO was forced to switch servers earlier this week.  "Our former host told us we had too much content to run efficiently even though we were on their top-tier plan, " says Wells. "We migrated to WP Engine whose servers have been able to handle every new feature we throw at them. There's a reason WP Engine is referred to as the Rolls Royce of web hosts," he adds.

"XUVO's vision for an exciting social network community for EDM fans will require a platform that is robust, agile, and creative – which is why WP Engine is a perfect fit," explains Tomás Puig, Director of Labs, WP Engine.  "We handle billions of hits and thousands of terabytes of data each month for our clients.  That means we can scale and innovate alongside XUVO, giving them the best hosting experience to power their network."

XUVO joins an elite and growing roster of WP Engine clients and is now featured on their site.

XUVO has also aligned with Freshdesk for its customer support platform (clients include 3M, Sony Pictures, and Hugo Boss) and Braintree for billing (Uber, LivingSocial, and Fab.com). XUVO customers will also have the option to use their existing Amazon.com accounts (including gift cards and store credit) or the popular new payment method Dwolla.

A native XUVO app is in development for iOS & Android devices and planned for release by fourth quarter 2014.

Nick Sinishtaj, Marketing Director for XUVO says, "Our social network offering demonstrates a forward-thinking understanding that consumers want brands they can actively be a part of. XUVO doesn't want customers, we want social partners."

In addition to its own Cult, XUVO is active on a large list of social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Vimeo, Soundcloud, Pinterest, Vine, Tumblr, and Snapchat.
