For California major metro regions, 2nd quarter 2014 BidClerk data showed that more than 2,400 new construction contracts were released for bid in the 2nd quarter of 2014. The total contract value for the California regions surveyed was $6.8 billion.
Nationally, BidClerk reported on $126 billion in commercial construction contracts out-to-bid in the 2nd quarter of 2014, across more than 50,000 projects. BidClerk saw an increase in the total contract values of more than $14 billion compared to the 2nd quarter of 2013. These figures include both public and private work, and it represents the aggregate value of actively bidding commercial construction contract opportunities available in BidClerk's database.
For the Los Angeles MSA region, 2nd quarter 2014 BidClerk data showed that there were more than 900 new construction contracts released for bid, with a combined contract value of $3.3 billion.
One notable project that actively bid in the 2nd quarter of 2014 in the Los Angeles MSA region is La Tijera Boulevard Residential. (BidClerk project number 2489639.) It is being built at an estimated cost of $20 million. The architect is Togawa Smith Martin Residential (Los Angeles, CA) and the general contractor is TriCal Construction Inc. (Marina del Rey, CA).
For the San Francisco MSA region, 2nd quarter 2014 BidClerk data showed more than 600 new construction contracts were released for bid, with a combined contract value of over $2 billion.
A notable project that actively bid in the 2nd quarter of 2014 in the San Francisco MSA region is the Hunters Point Shipyard Phase I Blocks 56/57. (BidClerk project number 2185115.) It is being built at an estimated cost of $37 million. The developer is Lennar Urban (San Francisco, CA). The architect is Steinberg Architects (San Francisco, CA) and the construction manager is Cahill Contractors (San Francisco, CA)
