For Florida major metro regions, BidClerk data shows there were more than 1,300 new construction projects released for bid in the 2nd quarter 2014. Total contract value in the Florida regions surveyed topped out at $4.2 billion in the 2nd quarter of 2014. This compares to a $3.5 billion total contract value reported for the 1st quarter of 2014.
Nationally, BidClerk reported on $126 billion in commercial construction contracts out-to-bid in the 2nd quarter of 2014, across more than 50,000 projects. BidClerk saw an increase in the total contract values of more than $14 billion compared to the 2nd quarter of 2013. These figures include both public and private work, and it represents the aggregate value of actively bidding commercial construction contract opportunities available in BidClerk's database.
For the Miami MSA region, BidClerk data showed more than 500 new construction projects were released for bid in the 2nd quarter of 2014. The contract value was $1.7 billion.
One notable project actively bidding in the Miami MSA region is Coral Reef Commons -- Phase I. (BidClerk project number 2762650.) It is being built at an estimated cost of $70 million. The architect is Roger Fry Architects (Coconut Grove, FL) and the general contractor is Kaufman Lynn Inc. (Boca Raton, FL).
For the Orlando MSA region, BidClerk data showed that more than 250 new construction projects were released for bid in the 2nd quarter 2014. The contract value was $800 million.
One notable project actively bidding in the Orlando MSA region is the Hampton Inn & Suites -- Orlando Health Downtown Campus. (BidClerk project number 2148094.) It is being built at an estimated cost of $20 million. The developer is CJP Columbia Properties (Tampa, FL) and the architect is Ponder & Ponder Architects (Norcross, GA).
For the Tampa MSA region, BidClerk data showed that more than 500 new construction projects were released for bid in the 2nd quarter 2014. The contract value was $450 million.
One notable project actively bidding in the Tampa MSA region is the Highwoods Plaza at Avion Park. (BidClerk project number 2820849.) It is being built at an estimated cost of $21 million. The developer is Highwoods Properties (Memphis, TN) and the architectural firm is Rule Joy Trammell and Rubio LLC (Atlanta, GA).
