Today, the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, provided remarks at the 2014 Aerospace, Defence and Security Expo (ADSE).
Kicking off a panel discussion on The Competitiveness of Canadian Suppliers, Minister Rempel discussed the importance of trade and investment in western Canada's aerospace, defence and security industries, and its economic impacts in the West. Minister Rempel also used the opportunity to highlight the ways that the Harper Government has supported the growth of Canada's aerospace sector.
-- Western Canada's aerospace sector employs approximately 27,000 people, generating $4.5 billion in annual revenues. -- AIAC represents 700 Canadian aerospace manufacturing and service companies, with 77 based on western Canada.
