Apprion, the leader of intelligent industrial applications and services for the process manufacturing industry, today announced the ION Contractor Management Application. ION Contractor Management provides real-time contractor location tracking including contractor clock-in and clock-out and intelligent contractor activity reporting for accountability and billing reconciliation. The contractor tracking and reporting capabilities in ION Contractor Management validate contractor activity and improve turnaround project management for significant cost savings.
ION Contractor Management, part of the ION Location Application family, uses real-time location beacons, RFID readers at designated locations for access control and a wireless infrastructure to track all contractors in real-time. Contractors wear IONite personnel location tags so plant managers and key personnel can easily locate contractors at any time in the integrated ION System dashboard, increasing contractor safety and productivity. Intelligent accountability reporting provides a detailed account of where contractors were located at a given time and for how long, for a comparison of submitted contractor invoices versus billing history. The application also includes a collaboration newsfeed dashboard for real-time, constant communication.
"With the rapid growth in the manufacturing sector, our customers are seeing a steep increase in capital and expansion projects. This has resulted in a need for many contractors on site, and managing these resources safely and productively is a challenge," said Venkat Bahl, Apprion's VP of Sales. "With ION Contractor Management, our customers have an easy, cost effective and rapid way to deploy a solution tailored to their specific needs."
The majority of contractor cost savings with ION Contractor Management are realized during turnaround projects. For example, a standard 90 day turnaround project at a chemical facility will cost approximately $400,000 per day if there are 1,000 contractors on site averaging $400 a day. Add in an estimated 10% in billing discrepancies will result in $40,000 a day in erroneous charges. The result is a total of $3.6 million saved and a rapid return on investment in less than 6 days for a typical 90 day turnaround project.
Apprion's ION System is an open, industrial platform that provides facilities an intelligent view of critical data, applications, and the industrial network in a single, customizable, interface. All ION Applications can be integrated in the ION System dashboard, including ION Contractor Management, for limitless functionality and a complete, intelligent, analytic view of all facility data.
