Arcade Station Opens as First and Only Gas Station in Western Canada to Sell E85 Ethanol Fuel

E85 Dramatically Improves Performance and Reduces Environmental Impact for Flex Fuel Compatible Vehicles

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/08/14 -- Arcade Station, Western Canada's only gas station selling E85 Ethanol fuel, will be celebrating its launch with a grand opening Sunday, August 17th from 10am to 4pm.

Located at 4370 Marine Drive in West Vancouver, Arcade Station sells Regular and Diesel fuel in addition to E85. Under various ownership since 1960, the iconic station and its retro pumps have new owners focused on providing E85 to a large consumer community. Performance car enthusiasts that modify their vehicles to accept E85, as well as environmentally conscious consumers who have purchased FlexFuel vehicles, have had no locations for fuel in the Lower Mainland until now.

"E85 is a revolutionary alternative to fossil fuel based gasoline that simultaneously improves a vehicle's performance while producing fewer harmful emissions," says Conal Campbell, Vice President of Business Development for Arcade Station. "We are proud to be the only station providing E85 and excited to bring this innovative fuel alternative to the Greater Vancouver market."

E85 fuel is made up of 85% ethanol and 15% regular fuel, with the ethanol refined from corn, making E85 a renewable alternative to fossil fuels. North American vehicles from the Big 3 manufacturers Ford, Chrysler, and GM arrive E85 ready from the factory, and display the "FlexFuel" badge on the vehicle and gas cap. Local Vancouver car enthusiasts driving, among others, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, and Mitsubishi vehicles convert their fuel system to accept E85 to enjoy improved performance.

E85 compatible vehicles experience acceleration improvements, cleaner intake valves and fuel injectors, and reduced knocking and pinging. In addition, E85 contains 35 percent oxygen, thus burning cleaner and more completely than gasoline, while producing less carbon monoxide emissions.

"Vancouver is home to a large and proud group of car enthusiasts who have, or are interested in, converting their vehicles to FlexFuel for the performance and environmental benefits," says Amir Nazary, Vice President of Engineering for Arcade Station. "Until now, owners with FlexFuel modified vehicles drove to Marysville, north of Seattle, Washington, to purchase E85, so the level of enthusiasm for Arcade Station and our E85 is tremendous."

The grand opening event will take place from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, August 17th at Arcade Station, located at 4370 Marine Drive, West Vancouver. The station owners would like to extend an invitation to all interested parties to join us at the celebration for a BBQ, contests, and unique collection of vehicles and owners from throughout the Lower Mainland.

Each component is developed by a different team, using different technologies and practices, and deployed to a different stack/target –...
