Tagetik Achieves Highest Score in Public/Private ($250M to $1B) Use Case, One of Four in Gartner's Latest Research on Critical Capabilities for CPM Suites

LUCCA, Italy and STAMFORD, Connecticut, August 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Tagetik, a visionary provider of global performance management solutions, today announced that the company achieved the highest score in the one of four use cases in Gartner's just-published research, "Critical Capabilities for Corporate Performance Management Suites."[1]  Tagetik received a 3.73 out of 5, the highest product score, in the public/private ($250 M to $1 B) use case.

Of the 12 vendors assessed in the study, Tagetik scored within the top 5 of the three other use cases included in the study: public/private (less than $250M) with 3.81, public (more than $1B) with 3.66, and enterprise business unit with 3.77 -- all scores out of a possible 5.

The Gartner report assessed the 12 CPM providers in the following weighted functional areas: consolidation and close, complex consolidation and close, financial budget planning and forecasting, complex financial budget planning and forecasting, disclosure management, ease of maintenance/upgrade, strategic CPM, ease of use, and ease of implementation.  The report then applied weighted scores to each use case.

"We believe these findings confirm that Tagetik should be on the short list for virtually every CPM selection process - regardless of the company's size or complexity," said Dave Kasabian, senior vice president of product marketing and strategy for Tagetik.  Tagetik's flexible deployment options - functionality is the same whether deployed on-premise or as a private or SaaS cloud solution - also contributes to Tagetik's ability to meet the needs of any finance organization, according to Kasabian.

"The study identifies functional capabilities as the top reason for choosing a CPM solution.  Therefore, we're pleased that Gartner's research shows our functionality strength," said Manuel Vellutini, co-CEO of Tagetik. "Our laser focus on financial functionality and the needs of finance is undiluted by other product lines or technologies.  Tagetik employees come to work each day with a single mission - to build the market's best CPM solution. These results, combined with consistently high customer satisfaction ratings, shows our approach is paying dividends for customers."

Microservices are a very exciting architectural approach that many organizations are looking to as a way to accelerate innovation. Microservices promise to allow teams to move away from monolithic "ball of mud" systems, but the reality is that, in the vast majority of organizations, different projects and technologies will continue to be developed at different speeds. Culture is the most important ingredient of DevOps. The cloud. Like a comic book superhero, there seems to be no problem it can’t fix or cost it can’t slash. Yet making the transition is not always easy and production environments are still largely on premise. Taking some practical and sensible steps to reduce risk can also help provide a basis for a successful cloud transition. A plethora of surveys from the likes of IDG and Gartner show that more than 70 percent of enterprises have deployed at least one or more cloud application or workload. Y...
