WASHINGTON, Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ambassador John Bolton strongly endorses former CIA officer and TX-23 Congressional candidate Will Hurd. A native of San Antonio and standout at Texas A&M University, Hurd is challenging career politician, Democrat, and incumbent Congressman, Pete Gallego. The district, one of the largest in terms of landmass in Texas, runs along the Mexican-American border, and the election is considered a target for the GOP in Texas.
"Will Hurd's national security experience and credentials are unmatched. As an operations officer for the CIA, Will supported America's interests abroad for over a decade," said Ambassador Bolton. "Will understands the failure of five years of President Obama's foreign policy, and the need to reevaluate America's standing on the world stage. I have no doubt Texans will be well served with Will in Congress."
"I'm proud to have the endorsement of such a well-respected defender of freedom and American exceptionalism," said Will Hurd. "Ambassador Bolton and I share the same goal of keeping America strong and I thank him for his support and leadership."
This is the 13th endorsement and candidate contribution from Ambassador Bolton's PAC, which has already made contributions to U.S. Senate candidates former Senator Scott Brown (NH), Thom Tillis (NC), Ed Gillespie (VA), Rep. Tom Cotton (AR), Joni Ernst (IA), Terri Lynn Land (MI), and Leader Mitch McConnell (KY), along with U.S. House of Representatives candidates Martha McSally (AZ-2), Barbara Comstock (VA-10), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL-16), former Rep. Robert Dold (IL-10), and Rep. Mike Pompeo (KA-4). The combined money raised for the PAC and Super PAC is over $4 million to date with nearly $3 million cash on hand.
