Fans Pick The Seattle Seahawks to Win Super Bowl XLIX; Dallas Cowboys to Finish Last

Prime Visibility Conducts "Fan Confidence" Social Media Survey to Predict the Outcome of the 2014-2015 NFL Season

MELVILLE, N.Y., Aug. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2014-2015 NFL Season is off to a roaring start and fans are using social media to talk about their favorite teams as they eagerly await Kick-Off Weekend. Prime Visibility, a digital marketing agency, ranked 32 NFL teams by "fan confidence," analyzing sentiment based on approximately 20 million Social Media mentions across Twitter, Facebook, and thousands of sports forum communities like footballsfuture.com, ESPN, Pro Sports Daily, among others.

The Findings

  • While there were fluctuations in sentiment across all teams, no team's fan confidence is below 50%. Every team has a more positive outlook than negative outlook according to Social Media mentions.
  • The Seattle Seahawks have the highest percentage of positive sentiment. Last year's Super Bowl champions are expected to potentially repeat this year, according to fans.
  • The San Diego Chargers' unexpected playoff berth last year has carried over to this year when looking at sentiment. While many experts think the Chargers won't make the playoffs again, fans seem to think differently, ranking them second to Seattle.
  • After underperforming the past few years, Cowboys fans seem to expect the worst going for 2014. "America's Team" was 8-8 last year and the Cowboys are worse when compared to last year (weaker defense).

More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smar...
Complete Internet of Things (IoT) embedded device security is not just about the device but involves the entire product’s identity, data and control integrity, and services traversing the cloud. A device can no longer be looked at as an island; it is a part of a system. In fact, given the cross-domain interactions enabled by IoT it could be a part of many systems. Also, depending on where the device is deployed, for example, in the office building versus a factory floor or oil field, security ha...

Successful transition from traditional IT to cloud computing requires three key ingredients: an IT architecture that allows companies to extend their internal best practices to the cloud, a cost point that allows economies of scale, and automated processes that manage risk exposure and maintain regulatory compliance with industry regulations (FFIEC, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FISMA). The unique combination of VMware, the IBM Cloud, and Cloud Raxak, a 2016 Gartner Cool Vendor in IT Automation, provides a co...
