ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - August 13, 2014) - Alice Kerber and Angie Patterson with Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education(CORE) were featured alongside Erin Long of TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation on the July 30, 2014 episode of Top Docs Radio.
Angie Patterson is the Vice President of Research and Education at GeorgiaCORE, a non-profit center that has grown since 2003 to cover the entire continuum of cancer care. She was also the co-founder of the Cancer Patient Navigators of Georgia. Alice Kerber is an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist and Advanced Practice Nurse in Genetics at GeorgiaCORE. She has had over 30 years of experience and was the 2011 recipient of the Oncology Nurse of the Year award by Georgia March of Dimes.
"At GeorgiaCORE, we are implementing Breast Cancer License Tags," explained Kerber. "I want everyone to know that $22 of every new purchase or renewal goes to the Georgia Indigent Care Fund, which is then used for grants to educate, provide screening and eventually potential treatment."
Also in the studio was Erin Long, Development Director for TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation, a non-profit healthcare organization dedicated to meeting the needs of women with breast cancer in Greater Atlanta. TurningPoint's clinic provides specialized and evidence-based rehabilitation for women with breast cancer, including physical therapy, massage therapy, counseling and nutritional counseling. According to Long, "The collaboration of clinical services provides each woman with hope, support and education in an atmosphere of wellness."
