Ericsson and Oracle Shine in Infonetics Service Delivery Platform Scorecard

Market research firm Infonetics Research released excerpts from its new Service Delivery Platform Vendor Scorecard, which profiles, analyzes, and ranks the 5 largest global vendors of service delivery platform (SDP) software: Ericsson, HP, Huawei, OpenCloud, and Oracle.

The 21-page report evaluates vendors entirely on criteria using factual data and metrics, such as direct feedback from service providers, market share data, and publicly available financial data. This approach eliminates subjective scoring and ensures vendors are assessed accurately and fairly.

For a limited time, telecom service providers receive a 50% discount on Infonetics’ SDP vendor scorecard. Contact Infonetics for details: www.infonetics.com/contact.asp.

SDP ANALYST NOTE

“Based on completely quantitative metrics, including financial information, product capabilities and service provider feedback, we named Ericsson the top vendor in the service delivery platform (SDP) software market, with Oracle following close behind,” says Shira Levine, directing analyst for service enablement and subscriber intelligence at Infonetics Research.

Continues Levine: “Ericsson scored particularly well on service and support and product reliability, and Oracle received high ratings on financial stability and solution breadth. Both companies, however, scored below average when it came to pricing.”

SERVICE DELIVERY PLATFORM SCORECARD HIGHLIGHTS

  • #1 Ericsson placed in the top 3 of every criterion except pricing
  • Key to #2 Oracle’s continued success in the SDP software market will be its ability to capitalize on the demand for enterprise applications and services, including machine-to-machine
  • Smaller player OpenCloud held its own against the larger competitors in the technology innovation and pricing categories
  • Service provider feedback resulted in a solid score for Huawei on pricing

ABOUT INFONETICS’ SDP SCORECARD

Infonetics’ 2014 service delivery platform vendor scorecard evaluates the leading SDP software vendors worldwide, as identified as top suppliers by service providers—Ericsson, HP, Huawei, OpenCloud, and Oracle—using criteria that are commonly used by buyers to select vendors, demonstrate success in the marketplace, and position a vendor for success. The matrix rankings are based on 8 criteria including market share, market share momentum, financial stability, solution breadth, and service provider opinions on technology innovation, product reliability, service/support, and pricing. The report answers such questions as: Who is the top scoring vendor overall? Who are the top vendors by criteria (market share, solution breadth, service/support, etc.)? What are each vendor’s strengths and weaknesses? To buy the scorecard, contact Infonetics: www.infonetics.com/contact.asp.

IT organizations are moving to the cloud in hopes to approve efficiency, increase agility and save money. Migrating workloads might seem like a simple task, but what many businesses don’t realize is that application migration criteria differs across organizations, making it difficult for architects to arrive at an accurate TCO number. In his session at 21st Cloud Expo, Joe Kinsella, CTO of CloudHealth Technologies, will offer a systematic approach to understanding the TCO of a cloud application...
Connecting to major cloud service providers is becoming central to doing business. But your cloud provider’s performance is only as good as your connectivity solution. Massive Networks will place you in the driver's seat by exposing how you can extend your LAN from any location to include any cloud platform through an advanced high-performance connection that is secure and dedicated to your business-critical data. In his session at 21st Cloud Expo, Paul Mako, CEO & CIO of Massive Networks, wil...
"With Digital Experience Monitoring what used to be a simple visit to a web page has exploded into app on phones, data from social media feeds, competitive benchmarking - these are all components that are only available because of some type of digital asset," explained Leo Vasiliou, Director of Web Performance Engineering at Catchpoint Systems, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at DevOps Summit at 20th Cloud Expo, held June 6-8, 2017, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.

Cloud adoption is often driven by a desire to increase efficiency, boost agility and save money. All too often, however, the reality involves unpredictable cost spikes and lack of oversight due to resource limitations. In his session at 20th Cloud Expo, Joe Kinsella, CTO and Founder of CloudHealth Technologies, tackled the question: “How do you build a fully optimized cloud?” He will examine: Why TCO is critical to achieving cloud success – and why attendees should be thinking holistically ab...
yperConvergence came to market with the objective of being simple, flexible and to help drive down operating expenses. It reduced the footprint by bundling the compute/storage/network into one box. This brought a new set of challenges as the HyperConverged vendors are very focused on their own proprietary building blocks. If you want to scale in a certain way, let’s say you identified a need for more storage and want to add a device that is not sold by the HyperConverged vendor, forget about it....

The goal of Continuous Testing is to shift testing left to find defects earlier and release software faster. This can be achieved by integrating a set of open source functional and performance testing tools in the early stages of your software delivery lifecycle. There is one process that binds all application delivery stages together into one well-orchestrated machine: Continuous Testing. Continuous Testing is the conveyer belt between the Software Factory and production stages. Artifacts are m...
