HBR Consulting LLC (http://www.hbrconsulting.com/) today announces that Karen Hornbeck has joined the firm as a Senior Director in its Law Department Consulting Practice.
“We are excited to have Karen join our growing team of consultants focused on serving the most pressing needs of our Law Department clients,” says HBR’s President Nicholas Quil. “Karen’s expertise in information governance, information security, privacy, and litigation response further strengthens our advisory service offerings.”
Ms. Hornbeck joins HBR from Duff and Phelps, where she was a Director and led the Information Governance practice. She brings over 15 years of technical and legal process consulting expertise as a business advisor to heavily litigated and regulated companies. She focuses on using information governance to drive strategic litigation and regulatory outcomes, reduce e-discovery and IT costs, and proactively manage privacy and security matters. She has directed large-scale programs within leading multi-national companies across the energy, financial, healthcare and government sectors, specializing in managing the risk associated with the growing volume of corporate information.
”I am thrilled to join HBR and help drive the growth of the Law Department Consulting practice,” Ms. Hornbeck says. “Companies understand the inherent value of their own information, and the corresponding risk of not managing it properly in an increasingly regulated and litigated environment. As our clients face challenges around controlling the information within their company, we can advise them not only on improved processes to manage their current information, but also on developing proactive strategies around privacy, security, information classification and overall information governance.
Law Department Consulting Leader Kevin Clem adds, “As companies work to determine the best strategy for managing their information, Karen’s extensive knowledge will be an invaluable asset to our law department clients. She will play a key role in expanding the solutions and capabilities we offer.”
Ms. Hornbeck holds a MBA from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University with a specialization in economics. Based in Houston, Hornbeck will serve the needs of the growing energy sector while leading the Information Governance practice nationwide.
