WatchGuard Technologies Firebox T10 "Bursting with Security Features" in Six Star PC Pro A-List Review

WatchGuard Firebox T10 recognized as a "remarkable little appliance" with an affordable price and more features than any other Unified Threat Management firewall in its market

SEATTLE, Aug. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- WatchGuard® Technologies, a leader in multi-function firewalls, today announced the WatchGuard Firebox T10 Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliance was named to PC Pro Magazine's A-List recommendation for best buys in technology. The review in the UK's No. 1 monthly IT publication noted the Firebox T10 is "bursting with security features at a surprisingly low price" and gave it six stars overall – its highest rating – based on performance, features and design, and value for money. This is the second A-list appearance for WatchGuard in as many years.

WatchGuard's Firebox T10 is "bursting with security features" and is "a remarkable little appliance" according to PC Pro Magazine. UK's No. 1 monthly IT publication gave the T10 a Six Star PC Pro A-List Rating and noted "it offers virtually every security feature present in WatchGuard's higher end UTM appliances at a remarkably low cost." Small offices now have access to enterprise-level network security features with Firebox T10.

"Enterprise-level network security has traditionally been way beyond the means of small offices, but WatchGuard's little Firebox T10 changes the landscape," notes the review. "It offers virtually every feature present in WatchGuard's higher end UTM appliances at a remarkably low cost."

According to Dave R Taylor, WatchGuard vice president of corporate strategy and product management, "With today's remote offices and distributed workforce, the concept of a distinct corporate network perimeter has all but disappeared. End-point security solutions are now critical for securing modern organizations, and since its debut earlier this year the Firebox T10 has proven itself to be a top contender with enterprise-level features in a small, cost-effective box that makes sense. We're thrilled to have PC Pro validate the innovation and robust functionality of the Firebox T10."

The Firebox T10 is ideal for organizations that need easy-to-use, full-UTM protection for remote workers or smaller offices. PC-Pro Magazine noted the affordable Firebox T10 can give these organizations the full security suite with a wealth of extras, including an intrusion-prevention system (IPS), web-content filtering, anti-spam, gateway AntiVirus, application controls and HTTPS inspection. According to the publication, managed service providers will also appreciate the full Dimension cloud-based big data visibility product, which is included free of charge.

It is ironic, but perhaps not unexpected, that many organizations who want the benefits of using an Agile approach to deliver software use a waterfall approach to adopting Agile practices: they form plans, they set milestones, and they measure progress by how many teams they have engaged. Old habits die hard, but like most waterfall software projects, most waterfall-style Agile adoption efforts fail to produce the results desired. The problem is that to get the results they want, they have to ch...

Requirements to deploy modern, cloud-native applications simultaneously with traditional client/server applications are almost impossible to achieve with hardware-centric enterprise infrastructure. Compute and network infrastructure are fast moving down a software-defined path, but storage has been a laggard. Until now.
