Best Lawyers Selects R. Scott Oswald and Nicholas Woodfield of The Employment Law Group® Law Firm for Best Lawyers in America 2015

Third Year in a Row for Both Attorneys

WASHINGTON, Aug. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- R. Scott Oswald and Nicholas Woodfield of The Employment Law Group® law firm were selected once again by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America guide.

It was the third consecutive listing for both Mr. Oswald and Mr. Woodfield. Best Lawyers bases its prestigious guide on a nationwide poll of leading attorneys in each practice area; more than 50,000 lawyers voted in the survey for the 2015 edition.

Mr. Oswald and Mr. Woodfield were chosen for their representation of employees who challenge fraud, discrimination, and other wrongdoing in the workplace.

"Nick and I are proud of this recognition, which extends to our entire firm," said Mr. Oswald, managing principal of The Employment Law Group. "We've had an active year, seeking justice for employees everywhere from county courthouses to the U.S. Supreme Court. Our primary goal is always to earn the trust of our clients, but the respect of our peers is a wonderful bonus."

Mr. Oswald is a past president of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association. He speaks publicly on laws that protect employees, and is quoted frequently by media outlets including The Wall Street Journal. He was chosen by employee advocates to draft an amicus curiae brief in the historic Lawson case, which resulted this spring in the Supreme Court's expansion of whistleblower protections under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

"To be included in Best Lawyers is an acknowledgment that our firm is practicing law at the highest level," said Mr. Woodfield, a principal at The Employment Law Group. "Our expertise is endorsed by others in our profession — and that means potential clients can feel confident about the representation they'll receive from our firm."

Washingtonian magazine recently named Mr. Woodfield as one of the "Top Lawyers" in Washington, D.C. He is a frequent speaker, panelist, and media commenter, especially on retaliation claims and the proper application of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Mr. Woodfield is president of the Virginia Employment Lawyers Association.

In addition to being recognized by Best Lawyers, attorneys at The Employment Law Group have received accolades from legal authorities including Super Lawyers, Martindale-Hubbell, and American Lawyer Media. The Employment Law Group was chosen by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers for the 2014 listing of "Best Law Firms," and Lawyer Monthly named the firm as Labor & Employment Law Firm of the Year in the United States for three years running.

Best Lawyers has published its influential legal rankings for more than three decades; Corporate Counsel magazine has called it "the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice." DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE). Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and...

The next XaaS is CICDaaS. Why? Because CICD saves developers a huge amount of time. CD is an especially great option for projects that require multiple and frequent contributions to be integrated. The only way to get CICD to work in a highly secure environment takes collaboration, patience and persistence. Building CICD in the cloud requires rigorous ar...
Companies are harnessing data in ways we once associated with science fiction. Analysts have access to a plethora of visualization and reporting tools, but considering the vast amount of data businesses collect and limitations of CPUs, end users are forced to design their structures and systems with limitations. Until now. As the cloud toolkit to analyze data has evolved, GPUs have stepped in to massively parallel SQL, visualization and machine learning.

To get the most out of their data, successful companies are not focusing on queries and data lakes, they are actively integrating analytics into their operations with a data-first application development approach. Large industrial manufacturing organizations are adopting the agile principles of cloud software companies. The industrial manufacturing development process has not scaled over time. As a result, it’s becoming common for enterprises to end up with several clusters. Thi...
