LONG BEACH, Calif., Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Epson today announced it has been named a Silver winner for Managed Print Services in the 2014 ChannelPro SMB Readers' Choice Awards. These awards highlight the products, technologies, services, and programs that best fit the requirements of SMBs and the channel pro organizations that serve them. Nearly 1,000 VARs, MSPs, systems integrators, custom builders and IT consultants in the U.S. voted in this year's ChannelPro SMB Readers' Choice Awards, and named Epson as one of the top three Managed Print Services (MPS) providers.
"Epson delivers innovative printing solutions and its joint efforts with leading independent MPS solution providers brings a new level of print management to resellers," said Alfredo Soto, group manager, New Printing Solutions, Epson America, Inc. "This award underscores our commitment to providing the most effective MPS solutions for our partners and we are honored to be recognized by the channel."
Epson works closely with industry-leading MPS software providers to deliver powerful solutions for IT network professionals and dealers that require robust business printers with easy-to-use monitoring services to manage productivity, performance and cost. In addition, Epson recently introduced two new printers to its product line, the WorkForce Pro® WF-5690 and WF-5190, powered by PrecisionCore™, Epson's revolutionary printing technology, which deliver 50 percent lower printing cost than lasers1, and are available with a best-in-class three year warranty.
ChannelPro SMB is a premier source of business and technology insights for channel partners serving small and midsize business markets. ChannelPro SMB readers were invited to participate in its Readers' Choice Awards and vote in several categories including products, technologies, services, and programs in the channel today. For each category, readers were asked to select the option that best satisfies their business' requirements, work styles, and budgets of their small and midsize business clients, as well as those that best serve their own partner organizations.
"Our readers are as passionate and selective about the tools they choose for their businesses as they are about the solutions they recommend to their SMB clients," said Michael Siggins, publisher of ChannelPro SMB. "It was gratifying to see such a high level of participation in the survey on the part of our readers, which helps us compile the only ranking of this kind for SMBs and the channel pro organizations that serve them."

As enterprises work to take advantage of Big Data technologies, they frequently become distracted by product-level decisions. In most new Big Data builds this approach is completely counter-productive: it presupposes tools that may not be a fit for development teams, forces IT to take on the burden of evaluating and maintaining unfamiliar technology, and represents a major up-front expense.
