Labinal Power Systems Partner With Edenred to Deliver New Employee Benefit Scheme

LONDON, August 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Labinal Power Systems, a Safran group business which is a world leader in aerospace electrical power systems, brought in the experts - Edenred - to help design and launch a brand new flexible benefit scheme for its 570 employees.

The organisation launched its new scheme, Reward Hub, after it was acquired by Safran. As well as a new online portal the team introduced a whole host of new voluntary benefits.

It proved a success within a few months of its launch, in December 2013, with the large majority of employees expressing an interest in additional voluntary benefits and those using the additional discounts making savings of over £3,000.

Jackie Ilesley, Divisional HR Director, Power Division, Labinal Power Systems

explains: "We had a flexible benefit scheme in place but this needed to change when we were acquired. We knew that if we were to retain talent and continue getting the best from our people, we needed to support them through the acquisition process and continue to offer a competitive flexible reward package.

We needed to design and implement a new scheme within a very aggressive timeline. Edenred understood our requirements from the offset and worked alongside our other benefit providers, driving the project to ensure it was executed on time and met the needs of the business and our employees.

Our online portal, Reward Hub, is very clear, intuitive and easy for employees to use. It is this together with the communication plan that Edenred helped execute that has ensured good take up among employees."

Due of the rise of Hadoop, many enterprises are now deploying their first small clusters of 10 to 20 servers. At this small scale, the complexity of operating the cluster looks and feels like general data center servers. It is not until the clusters scale, as they inevitably do, when the pain caused by the exponential complexity becomes apparent. We've seen this problem occur time and time again. In his session at Big Data Expo, Greg Bruno, Vice President of Engineering and co-founder of StackIQ...
Security, data privacy, reliability, and regulatory compliance are critical factors when evaluating whether to move business applications from in-house, client-hosted environments to a cloud platform. Quality assurance plays a vital role in ensuring that the appropriate level of risk assessment, verification, and validation takes place to ensure business continuity during the migration to a new cloud platform.

WebRTC has had a real tough three or four years, and so have those working with it. Only a few short years ago, the development world were excited about WebRTC and proclaiming how awesome it was. You might have played with the technology a couple of years ago, only to find the extra infrastructure requirements were painful to implement and poorly documented. This probably left a bitter taste in your mouth, especially when things went wrong.

Big Data engines are powering a lot of service businesses right now.
