Sexually Abused Woman Writes Book About Her Life Journey

"Damaged" Recounts Sexual Abuse Story of Convicted Colorado Man Now Awaiting Sentencing

SPRING VALLEY, Calif., Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lorina Pyle, 48, an assistant pastor at First Spiritualist Church in San Diego and a long-suffering sexual, mental and physical abuse victim, has released her first book on, "Damaged: The Unbelievable Story About My Truth," that chronicles her compelling life as a victim of childhood molestation and sexual abuse endured at the hands of her step-brother, Donald Jefferson Davis, 53, from Egnar, CO, who was recently convicted on child molestation charges. The 266-page book retails for $19.95.

Pyle is one of the earliest victims of Davis, now being held in a Telluride, CO, jail, and he is awaiting sentencing that is set to take place on September 26. Davis pled guilty to nine counts of felony and first-degree sexual assault violations. Because the sexual abuse Pyle experienced took place during the 1970s, the statute of limitations had expired for this type of criminal activity and she was unable to personally press charges against Davis.

"Writing the book has been an incredible healing experience for me," explains Pyle. "Like most people who have been molested or abused, I was brainwashed into not telling. I was belittled and made to feel so worthless so that I didn't feel like anyone cared if I did tell."

In her book, Pyle describes a life of repeated molestation, torture and rapes, starting at age 4, when she was kidnapped by her dad and uncle and forced to endure the vile behavior from her 10-year old stepbrother Davis. Pyle served as a witness for the prosecution in the recent trial of Davis.

Pyle plans to create a national foundation to help victims of molestation and sexual abuse. She has a Go Fund Me website that allows the public to donate money to help her fund the foundation and book launch. For more information visit

About the Author
Reverend Lorina Pyle has dedicated her adult life to helping heal those in need, as a teacher, lecturer, spiritual counselor minister, assistant pastor, and now, author. In her search to heal herself from the lifelong crippling effects of PTSD caused by the sexual abuse she suffered for more than ten years as a child, she found and developed self-help healing methods that brought her out of decades she spent as a victim to that of a triumphant survivor. Lorina's motivation for becoming an author and telling her horrific yet moving story in three volumes is to share the message that, no matter how bad it is or was, no matter who the abuser is or was, it is never too late to tell. Lorina is dedicating her life to helping others and is working toward establishing and operating a non-profit foundation to act as a resource center for sufferers of childhood sexual abuse by providing resources to support survivors. Cloud computing delivers on-demand resources that provide businesses with flexibility and cost-savings. The challenge in moving workloads to the cloud has been the cost and complexity of ensuring the initial and ongoing security and regulatory (PCI, HIPAA, FFIEC) compliance across private and public clouds.
